Two questions today..

1. What is your favorite holiday cookie? I think this is one of my favorite “Two on Tuesday” questions. I always seem to bake the same holiday cookies (sugar cookies, spritz, and kiss cookies (aka Peanut Butter Blossoms). And then I will branch out with another type or two. What are your favorite and / or go to cookies for the holidays?

2. What is your decorating style?  I have been all over Pinterest lately searching for decorating ideas and I realized that I was so overwhelmed because I didn’t know what to search for specifically.  Now that I have it narrowed down (it’s currently a farmhouse chic) it’s way easier to hunt!

I’m looking forward to hearing everyone’s answers!

Snickerdoodles, gingerbread, molasses cookies, and truffles. Rustic/ecletic/modern

I like my mom’s chocolate and peanut butter fudge rather than cookies.
    Texas/rustic chic.

My favorite holiday cookies are crinkles, sugar cookies and chocolate chip Hershey kiss cookies.
My decorating syle is more rustic chic.

    1. icebox cookies – my gramma always made them but I can’t make them right

    2. Simplistic, tree, some other decorations, linens all changed to festive reds but with my oldest’s birthday December 7th, I’m never allowed to decorate until after the 7th. Even now he gets upset that his birthday gets upstaged by Christmas. Last year, I rearranged the living room and put out the Christmas linens on the tables and he was not a happy boyo.

    1. ANYTHING. I love cookies. it’s really terrible. My friend made the peanut butter ones and put reese’s cups on the top instead of the kisses and they were INCREDIBLE.

    2. my decorating style is legit like Ikea threw up in my house.

I bake, Italian cookies, easy and fun. Molasses , sugar, egg nog, brown sugar cookies and peanut butter fudge. Then candied pecans, super simple, brownie bites with a peppermint kiss on top that melts. Every dough I make can be frozen well ahead of time and baked as needed. I do that with Banana bread, eggnog bread and and walnut bread too.

I like to decorate with things with my hubs or I collect on our travels. Then a classic, farmhouse style. Easy fun things that wont go out of style or are a fads.

    1. I generally stick to the peanut butter blossom cookies as well. But this year I found a recipe on Pinterest for Oreo peppermint/candy cane cookies that looks amazing. I think I will try it out and gift them to my neighbors.

    2. Our style is basically everything from IKEA, clean and modern lines. But having a toddler makes it difficult to maintain that lol

    1. I love Christmas cookies, any kind! I got married right before Christmas and we had cookies instead of cake. (We also had a Christmas tree with handmade ornaments on it as the favors and egg nog and mulled wine.) I love making shortbread, sugar, gingerbread, ginger snaps, kiss, and spritz cookies. We make about 600-1000 a year between my mother-in-law, sister-in-law, and myself. This year I can’t eat dairy becaus I’m nursing and my daughter is allergic, so I’m opting out of the baking. I’m terrified I’ll come home with butter under my nails or I’ll be tempted to eat something I shouldn’t.

    2. My dream house is all antiques and found treasures. My real world style is mid century modern, with a twist of crafty country chic. Low couches, clean lines, dark woods, and splashes of white and red thrown in. We like to decorate each season and holiday, so I try and make a lot of the decor that changes.

My favorite Christmas cookie hands down is the Gingerbread Oreos. I’m not really an Oreo fan in general (though I must always try the new versions) but this one really works for me. After that pretty much any cookie with peanut butter is my favorite.

After thinking it through I realized that I’m more of a craftsman rustic kind of decorated. I love the way craftsmans man homes look as well as the rustic log cabin look. Yup that’s me

  10. Jennifer

Farmhouse chic with a touch of unexpected city flare, but we’re a large family that “lives” in it and I try to put “us” in it too.
