Allure Beauty Box January 2016 Subscription Box

The Allure Beauty Box includes five or more deluxe sized beauty products every month. Boxes are curated by the editors of Allure magazine and also include a special-edition “mini magazine” chock full of the most trusted product reviews you’ve come to expect from Allure.  July was the first month after the switch from “Allure Sample Society” to the “Allure Beauty Box”.  Honestly had I not previously known about the change I never would have noticed anything different about this box. I would have just thought it was getting better.

The Box

The Allure Beauty Box ships via USPS and took just a few days to arrive.  I think they ship in batches because I know some people received their boxes long before mine shipped.

Inside

The January 2016 Allure Beauty Box theme was “Beauty and Brains” and included the following:

~DHC Deep Cleansing Oil (1oz) ($5.50):  This is a deep cleansing oil-based facial cleanser for normal to dry skin.  It’s great for Michigan winters!  It removed dirt (and even makeup) and you only need to use like a quarter sized amount so this little bottle will go a long way.

~Schmidt’s Natural Deodorant in Lavender + Sage (0.5oz) ($2.25): I want to love this natural deodorant, I really do, but I cannot get into the apply with your fingers part.  It works and I like the smell and all that, but I just don’t like the application part.  However, Schmidt’s does now have a stick deodorant, so hopefully that will appear in a subscription box soon!

~Mally Evercolor Starlight Waterproof Liner in Black Navy (Full-Size) ($20): As you know I am not huge on eyeliner, but I do like the brush on the end of this.  I did test the liner and thought it applied smoothly and evenly with little effort on my part.

~Skinn Cosmetics Caviar Lip Scream in Ruby (5mL) ($22): This is SO pigmented.  I expected it to be more of a gloss than a stain, but it’s for sure a stain/lipstick.  It’s not heavy though!  The information card does note that this will wear off from the middle of your lips first, so you may end up with a ring of color around the outside of your lips.

~Erno Laszlo Transphuse Eye Refiner (1mL) ($7): I have been using this around my eyes since it arrived. It rubs in easily and promises to decrease the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes.

~Derma E Hydrating Night Creme (0.5oz / 14g) ($7.25): According to the information card this smells faintly of apricots, but I didn’t pick that up.  I didn’t think it smelled like much of anything. t thought it made my skin feel softer by morning and didn’t seem too thick or heavy.

~Trust Fund Beauty Nail Polish in Champagne Problems ($15) (Full Size): Champagne Problems is a metallic gold foil. And I love it! I am in desperate need of a polish change and this may be next!  Trust Fund Beauty polishes are free of toluene, formaldehyde, lead, nickel and phthalates and come in a ton of amazing colors.

All totaled I came up with a value of $70 for the January 2016 Allure Beauty Box.  This box never ceases to amaze me. A $70 value for a $15 box is amazing.  If you don’t subscribe to this box yet, what are you waiting for?

This was my 1st month back with this box and I was so excited about every item in the box! I have used the cleanser in the past and I love it! They really packed a lot of useful items in that one little box!
