bluum January 2016 Subscription Box

bluum, is a monthly box of goodies for moms and babies.  Products are hand selected based on your child’s age (from pregnancy to preschool), gender and developmental stage.  I have gotten bluum for years and while the boxes have had their ups and downs I have generally been pretty pleased with them and have stuck with my subscription (which is for my 3.5 year-old son – aka W).

The Box

bluum ships via FedEx Smart Post and generally takes about a week to arrive.  I typically plan on receiving it during the second half of the month

The Information Card

This was the fifth (?) month that bluum allowed subscribers to customize their entire box. You don’t have to, but the option is there if you want to. I customized mine and I plan to as long as they allow it. I selected the following items for my January 2016 bluum box:

~Crocodile Creek 100pc Travel Pouch Puzzle ($4.99): This puzzle is a little too old for W right now, but I figured he could grow into it.  And it’s something that L will enjoy as well.  I think the resealable pouch is genius for a puzzle too.  I hate when they put them in boxes that don’t close all the way and you end up losing pieces.

~Melissa & Doug Pinball Arcade ($4.98): This is a self-contained pinball game!  It has 6 different backgrounds so it’s like 6 different games in one.  I thought it might be fun on long car trips when they get tired of movies and iPads!

~The Diggers Sticker Activity ($5.99): This activity book has fun mazes, stickers and all sorts of other items.  Stickers are a big hit with W and he’s getting really good at being able to peel them off on his own.

~Magnetic Figures – Hometown Heroes ($22.58): Love these! You can dress up the people in an assortment of outfits (doctor, fireman, police officer, etc.).  It reminded me of the paper dolls I use to have, except a more modern version.

All totaled I came up with a value of $38.54 for the January 2016 bluum box. I picked out everything in this box, so I am very happy with it!  I love that bluum is now allowing subscribers to select the items they receive in boxes.  I do wish they’d give a little more variety in the selections, but I am happy.

    Bluum sucks

I canceled last year because my 2 year old received several things for a 0-3 months old baby. I thought I would give them another shot now that I can pick my own items. Wrong.

    1. I received nothing I selected.
    2. My January box showed up in February.
3.I was told I would receive an extra item because of the delay, which I didn’t.
    4. I got terrible items – panda eye mask, dish soap, a plastic diarrhea green sandwich container that looks like it came from the dollar store and 2 little plastic bowls

Buyer beware when dealing with this company.
