Stitch Fix is a personal styling service for women. With Stitch Fix, you provide your style, size (they also do maternity fixes), and budget preferences, and they will send you a package of stylish goodies to try on at home. You only pay for the items you love and decide to keep. There is a $20 styling fee which is applied to your order should you decide to keep any / all of the pieces.  If you don’t keep anything, you don’t receive a refund of the fee. If you keep all of the pieces, you get a 25% discount on everything!  Also, I should mention that you are only charged once you “check out” at Stitch Fix.  You have a few days to try everything on and the box comes with a bag and a prepaid USPS return label so you can easily ship back the pieces you aren’t interested in.

I had peeked at this box in advance and knew it would be a good one!

The Card

Each Stitch Fix comes with an information card which includes a listing of everything in the box, prices, and then a total of how much everything would be if you kept it all (it deducts your $20 styling fee and the 25% discount for keeping all of your items).  Just to give you an idea, my box had a merchandise total of $278.  If you keep one or two items it’s the price listed minus your $20 styling fee.  If you keep everything, you take 25% off the total and then deduct the $20 styling fee. Here are the pieces I received:

~Octavia Tina Checkered Infinity Scarf ($34): Love this!  I actually requested it in my stylist notes last month but it wasn’t available.  It was this month though!  I am thrilled with it and am wearing it right now.  It’s soft and cozy and the price point is perfect.  Verdict: Kept.

~Dear John Macie Bootcut Jean ($88): I rarely wear jeans, but I think these are fantastic.  I love the distressing and fade on them and I love that they are bootcut.  Skinny jeans were never for me and the thought that bootcut jeans are back in makes me so happy. Verdict: Kept.

~Paper Moon Elvina Embroidery Detail Pocket Front Top ($44): Meh. This is the only item in the box I am not thrilled with.  It’s really thin (almost see-thru) and the fit is so boxy and just odd on me.   Also, I am not into the embroidery on the pocket. Verdict: Returned.

~Love Appella Besillio Hooded Knit Top ($64): My stylist clearly gets that I like tops with hoods on them!  This is a sort of stretchy loungewear type shirt and is absolutely perfect. I love every single thing about it. Verdict: Kept.

~41 Hawthorn Abrianna Longsleeve Knit Cardigan ($48): Again, love!  Cardigans are another staple of mine and this one is so pretty!  It’s lightweight and the color is gorgeous.  I would happily keep any color of this that they sent me. Verdict: Kept.

Maybe I’m confused, but wouldn’t it be cheaper to keep the shirt you don’t love than to return it?

    1. Ake

Hah! That’s just what I was thinking. You could always donate it or even use it as a rag….

      1. Jennifer

Omg. Lol!!! My SIL used to get Stitch Fix and she swore they’d send her like 3-4 fabulous items and then 1-2 items she hated so she’d either have to keep things she didn’t like to get the discount or not get the discount and return things. Lol!!!

    2. Jennifer

Yeah you are right. It probably would. Which drives me crazy! Lol. I haven’t checked out online yet. I just need to remember to leave a note explaining why I’m keeping it. I don’t want them to get confused and send me more like it because I kept it. Lol!!

I read on FB today that Stitch Fix gets a lot of the clothes from Nordstrom Rack and Marshall’s. Have you heard that?

    1. Jennifer

I know some people have found SF items at the rack! I swear someone once received shorts with a Nordstrom rack tag on them. It was this huge thing!

I’m surprised you don’t try GOlden Tote, they have the most comfortable clothes. You said you don’t ever wear jeans, so what do you wear? I just recently broke down and bought leggings and sweat pants but I don’t see the appeal. I must be missing something lol. I just don’t feel dressed when I wear them, plus they aren’t as warm. So does everyone wear leggings, and if so what kind? Like I said I just bought my very first leggings and sweats.. Lol

    1. Jennifer

Leggings are my favorites. I have tried GT! I think they’d be better for me if I worked in an office. Everyone raves about LuLuRoe leggings but I haven’t tried them yet.

        LuLuRoe leggings are AMAZING

I’m a at hone person and I love GoldenTote. They always have tons of casual stuff and their leggings and jeans are to die for. Of course I just started leggings but their jeans are like butter!!! Lol

Everything is SO cute! Really good prices this month too. I long for the day that they add Plus size options to their line up!! I’ve heard about that Gwynnie Bee but renting clothes is so NOT the same as Stitch Fix.
