Target Refresh Beauty Box Review
Target Refresh Beauty Box

My Target “Refresh” Beauty Box has arrived! This Target Beauty Box was $7 (they vary from $5-$10) and was available through Target’s website for a limited time only. The latest Target boxes (“Refresh” and “Renew”) were released on January 4th and sold out in just a few hours.  There is no set schedule to when these boxes are released and we never know exactly when it will go on sale. These are NOT subscription boxes and must be purchased individually as they are released.

The Box

Target Beauty Box ships via USPS and arrived less than a week after I ordered it.  They ship from Illinois and I am in Michigan so it was quick.

Target always releases the fill contents of their Beauty Boxes when they go on sale, but I am always much more impressed when I see them in person.  This box looked amazing.

The Information Card

The Target “Refresh” included the following new must have products inspired by 2016 beauty resolutions:

~ACURE Day Cream (1oz / 30mL) ($9.71): ACURE products are gluten free, Phthalate-free, contain no added fragrance added and are also paraben-free.  The Target website says this is unscented, but I am not sure about that.  I thought it smelled a little citrusy.  This cream is not heavy and boosts firmness while also fighting free radical damage.  I thought it absorbed quickly and felt great on my skin.

ACURE Day Cream

~John Frieda Frizz Ease Keraflex Hair Spray (2oz) ($8.99): This hairspray gives you a flexible “brushable” hold.  I am not a huge fan of the smell though so I will be passing it on to a friend.  I can’t figure out what it smells like, but I know I am not into it.

John Frieda Frizz Ease Keraflex Hair Spray

~NIVEA In-Shower Body Lotion (2.7oz / 80mL) ($1.20): This is interesting.  You apply it in the shower and then rinse it off instead of using login after the shower.  I didn’t think it would work, but it really does.  It does take some getting used to though that’s for sure.  Also, I wish it actually smelled like almonds (it has almond oil in it).

NIVEA In-Shower Body Lotion

~Nip+Fab Glycolic Fix Pads (5 pads) ($1.25): Yes!  These are absolutely perfect. They are used at night (2-3 times per week) and “refine pores, brighten the complexion and de-congest the skin”.  They remind me of the Stridex pads I used to use and LOVE. They didn’t irritate my skin and left it feeling clean and refreshed.  I will be buying the full-size of this next time I am at Target.

Nip+Fab Glycolic Fix Pads

~Scunci Braided Elastic Bands (2 Bands) (~$1): I have purchased these numerous times on my own and I am a big fan.  I don’t have to continue to repurchase because they break, it’s because I lose them.  I don’t believe I have ever had one break? I have had them stretch out, but I usually lose them before that happens ;).

Scunci Braided Elastic Bands

~Simple Micellar Wipes (25 Wipes) ($6.99): Makeup remove wipes / cleansing wipes are possibly my favorite beauty invention ever.  These are makeup wipes contain no artificial perfumes or dyes and don’t irritate or dry out your skin.  They are ideal for traveling or after a long day.

Simple Micellar Wipes

~Marlowe Extra Moisturizing Lotion (1oz) ($0.67): This is a totally new to me brand.  It’s not sealed, but that’s probably a good thing because (before I knew this) I tried to get the cap off and it was NOT happening.  It’s got a very (very) light scent and I found it to be thick and moisturizing – not greasy at all.  It’s also paraben-free, phthalate-free, not tested on animals and made in the US.

Marlowe Extra Moisturizing Lotion

~Clear Total Men Scalp Therapy 2in1 Anti-Dandruff (1.7oz) ($0.73) & Clear Scalp & Hair Therapy Conditioner (1.7oz) ($0.67): This duo is slightly different than what was advertised on the Target website.  The website showed the Clear Total Care Shampoo and Conditioner, but instead of that Shampoo we received the Clear Men Scalp Therapy 2-in-1 Anti-Dandruff Shampoo and Conditioner.  It’s not a huge deal and we will use both of these, but I do like to get a matching set in a box.

Clear Total Care Shampoo & Conditioner

All totaled I came up with a value of $31.21 for the Target “Refresh” Beauty Box.  As usual it was a great value and I am thrilled with this box.

As I mentioned this box is now sold out, but I will post as soon as Target releases the next Beauty Box and will also send out an e-mail to those on my Newsletter list!
