Birchbox "Why Not...Stay In" Limited Edition Box Review + Coupon Codes The Why Not…Stay In?” Box is Birchbox’s latest limited edition box. It is filled with products that make staying in feel less like a sacrifice and more like a celebration. I like staying in as it is, but we’re about to get hit with a snowstorm, so the timing on this one couldn’t have been more perfect.
Birchbox "Why Not...Stay In" Limited Edition Box Review + Coupon Codes My Birchbox “Why Not…Stay In?” Box shipped via UPS (Birchbox seems to use a variety of shipping methods) and took just a few days to arrive. Shipping is free if you are a Birchbox ACE or if you spend over $50 (it used to be free with a $35+ purchase).

The Birchbox “Why Not…Stay In?” Box includes the following items to give you a welcome excuse for some “me” time:

~amika Nourishing Mask (60mL / 2oz) ($12): amika products smell amazing, but better than that, they work.  They really work.  I have (finally) figured out with hair masks that less is more.  I used to think more was better, but I can assure you it is not.  If you apply too much product it is so difficult to wash out!  This will conditioner your split ends and leave your hair shiny and bouncy!

~The Body Shop Shea Butter Body Scrub (50mL / 1.9fl.oz) ($4.29): The Body Shop isn’t a brand that appears in subscription boxes often so it’s always a treat when it does.  It’s thick and rich and smells great and is fabulous on rough spots.  A real treat for the shower.

~Kocostar Nail Therapy (1 Nail Care Pack) ($3.40): This is the product I am most intrigued by.  I am rough on my nails for sure and this is supposed to help straighten your nails and works to prevent splitting and peeling.  I have polish on right now, but I am due for a polish change, so these are going to happen in between. One note – you need to block off 30 minutes to an hour to apply them.

~Nails Inc.™ NailKale Nail Polish in Westbourne Park Road ($15) & Nails Inc.™ NailKale Superfood Base Coat ($15): I love the concept of the “NailKale” polish (it has kale in it to deliver stronger, healthier-looking nails), but I am not real into this color.  Its described as a “pink-based nude creme” and according to All Lacquered Up (who does AMAZING polish reviews and swatches) was previously exclusive to Sephora.  The Base Coat is what I am really excited about between these two.  It helps to protect your nails from staining (I hate that) and also works to stimulate nail growth, hydration, anti-breakage and anti-splitting protection, and deep nourishment.  The best part though is that it dries in 45 seconds!

~Richer Poorer Striped Fuzzy Socks ($15): I couldn’t find this exact product online (I believe they were made just for Birchbox), but I found a similar pair they did for a collaboration with POPSUGAR and used that price.  When I saw them listed in the box contents I thought they were “just” fuzzy socks, but they are actually slipper socks and have little grippies on the sole.  So cozy and they will be on my feet as soon as my running around for the day is done.
Birchbox "Why Not...Stay In" Limited Edition Box Review + Coupon Codes
~Stephanie Johnson Eye Mask ($29): I don’t sleep with an eye mask on (I don’t like things touching my face when I sleep), but I do think they are very handy on long flights. The pattern on this is great and is material feels like such a treat against your skin (except when I am sleeping anyway).
Birchbox "Why Not...Stay In" Limited Edition Box Review + Coupon Codes
~TokyoMilk French Kiss Travel Candle No. 15 ($12): This travel candle has scents of “mandarin, tuberose, gardenia and vetiver”.  I didn’t find the scent to be overwhelming and will be burning this tonight.
Birchbox "Why Not...Stay In" Limited Edition Box Review + Coupon Codes
~Wei™ Multitask Multi-Mask Collection ($20): Okay, how cute is this set-up!  The collection includes 3 different single-use masks: Bee Venom – Anti-Wrinkle Cream Mask, Brown Sugar – Ready Glow Exfoliating Mask and Golden Root – Purifying Mud Mask.  It also includes a brush to help you apply the masks.

Mystery Sample Pack: My Mystery Sample pack (which is free with a $35+ purchase as long as you add it to your cart) included Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré (24-Hour Miracle Cream) (5mL = $2.67) and Air Repair Complexion Boosting Moisturizer (.24fl. oz = $2.52).  These Mystery Sample Packs are supposed to have a $10+ value and I have found that sometimes mine do and sometimes (like this one) do not.  It’s free though so I don’t complain (had a purchased one for $10 though I probably would complain).

~Dry Skin Sample Pack: I used coupon code “DRYSKIN” with my order to get a free Moisturizing Sample Pack. The sample pack includes: Dr. Jart+ Dermask Vital Hydra Solution™ Deep Hydration Sheet Mask (1 mask = $6), derma e® Hydrating Scrub ($3.88) & Liz Earle Superskin™ Moisturizer with Natural Neroli (15mL = $22.50). I am really impressed with this pack and am so glad I went for it!

All totaled I came up with a value of $125.69 for the Birchbox “Why Not…Stay In?” Box.  It’s a great value for $45 and I thought it was fantastic box.  It was very “me” and the selections were awesome for a cozy night in!

This box is so me! I knew you’d have a review up. 🙂 Yay! Just talked me into using my $30 worth of points for this!

  2. Britney

Wei East is on of my favorite mask brands ever… Especially the Golden Root. It’s almost worth buying the box for just that, the rest would just be extras!

I no longer subscribe to Birchbox but enjoy reading the reviews of your boxes. I did have $20 worth of points left to use, and this box seemed like the perfect thing to spend them on. I added the mystery pack and the used the ‘dry skin’ code to get the extras so I think I got a pretty good deal. Can’t wait.

Off topic, would you consider adding a DATE to your posts? I’d find it really helpful to see them dated. Just a thought. Thanks.

If I can figure it out (I am sure they is just some coding I need to google) I will add it! Thanks for the suggestion!
