bluum, is a monthly box of goodies for moms and babies. Products are hand-selected based on your child’s age (from pregnancy to preschool), gender and developmental stage. They now have an option that allows you to select the items you wish to receive in your boxes which I think is awesome. You don’t have to pick, but the option is there if you’d like to. I have gotten bluum for years and while the boxes have had their ups and downs I have generally been pretty pleased with them and have stuck with my subscription (which is for my 3.5 year-old son – aka W).
bluum ships via FedEx Smart Post and generally takes about a week to arrive. I typically plan on receiving it during the second half of the month.
I actually received an e-mail from bluum letting me know that one of my selections from this month was out of stock. I was given the opportunity to reselect all of the contents of my box, to allow bluum to reselect an item for me or to allow bluum to send me a surprise box. I was only given a short amount of time (about 8 hours) to reply to the message and I didn’t see it until it was too late. bluum ended up selecting a new item for me. Actually they selected two items for me to replace the one that was missing.
My February 2016 bluum box contained the following items
~Picture Puzzles Numbers Puzzle (bluum pick) ($6.99): This is a fun way to count from 1 to 100. The puzzle pieces connect so you learn the numbers at the same time you are putting together a fun puzzle. It’s very age appropriate for W!
~Super-Looper Sippin Specs (bluum pick) ($5): These are so silly! And my boys will love them. I am going to put them in L’s Easter Basket this year. I think he will get a bigger kick out of them than W would.
~Crocodile Creek Dinosaur Notebook (my pick) ($4.50): Not an overly excting pick on my part, but W is really into coloring and practicing his letters so it’s much needed around here. The inside is full of plain paper, but it also contains a few sheets of dino stickers.
~Pkolino Hexagon Colored Pencils (my pick) ($5.99): These are super cool colored pencils. They are made 100% out of color and contain no wood. So you can use the entire pencil and get the most out of them.
~veraclean Natural Antibacterial Cleaner (my pick) ($6.75) : This smells good and works nicely on my counters. I thought the name of the scent (Quality Thyme) was pretty creative as well.
~Le Petit Matisse Young artist’s paint – Small Set (for feedback) ($10): The final item in the box was a set of paints from Le Petit Matisse. According to an e-mail I received from bluum showing the contents of my box (they are e-mailed the day you receive your box) they were sent because “Le Petit Matisse asked for your feedback on these products”. I don’t know if all subscribers received these this month or just those in certain age groups, but I love it! I hope to see more of these type of things down the road. For the record I thought these were a little liquidy, but they are water based and contain no latex or acrylic, so that explains why. The colors are made from minerals, fruits and veggies! Very cool.
All totaled I came up with a value of $39.23 for my February 2016 bluum box. I loved this box and thought the addition of the bonus gift was fantastic!
