Hamptons Lane curates an amazing monthly box of artisan foods, kitchen tools, and serveware for the food lover. Boxes are $47/month and are revealed at the beginning of every month. Boxes are created around a monthly theme, such as Southwestern Fiesta, Summer Cocktail, The Best of BBQ, Coastal Italy, etc. Unlike most subscription boxes, you can skip the box if it doesn’t interest you during the first five days of that month.

Hamptons Lane generally ships in the second half of the month. February shipped much later than normal though as they were waiting on one of the items in the box to arrive from the vendor.

Hamptons Lane packaging isn’t always the prettiest, but that is because they send items of all shapes and sizes.

The Febraury 2016 Hamptons Lane theme was “Taste of Thailand” and included the following items to help you create classic Thai dishes:

~Hand-hammered Carbon Steel Wok by Hamptons Lane, New York, NY (MSRP: $35) and Wok Ring by Hamptons Lane, New York, NY (MSRP: $8): A wok is described as the most important piece in Thai cooking.  We actually used to own a wok, but I don’t know what happend to it?  This authentic carbon steel wok was made special for Hamptons Lane.  The ring allows for optimal heat distribution and lets you tip the wok when needed. Unfortunately this doesn’t work well on electric stoves, which is what we have.

~Organic Pad Thai Noodles by King Soba, Yucca Valley, CA ($3.59): This is a fair-trade certified product and works well in a the Hamptons Lane Shrimp Pad Thai recipe or their Sichuan Beef Stir Fry.

~Green Curry Sauce by Thaifusions Co., Seattle, WA ($16.95): This contains organic coconut milk, green chili peppers, spicy Thai basil, sweet cilantro, fresh Kaffir lime leaves, and more.  I thought it was more sweet than spicy, which I know some people probably won’t love, but it works for me.

~Jade Sichuan Peanut Sauce by TLA Pacific Kitchen Inc., San Mateo, CA ($12.95): Now I thought this was a tad spicier.  It’s described as a combination of “sweet, spicy and tart”, but I think it’s more spicy than sweet and tart.  The information card is right though, a little goes a long way.

~Red Boat Fish Sauce by Viet Phu Inc., Phu Quoc Island, Vietnam ($9): This is…interesting.  It’s made from anchovies sourced from the waters near Phu Quoc Island archipelago in Vietnam. In the right dish this would probably be better, but I tried it alone and I didn’t love it.

All totaled I came up with a value of $85.49 for the February 2016 Hamptons Lane box.  It’s a great value and if you love Thai food, this is a great box for you!
