Julep March 2016 Subscription Box Review + Coupon Codes
Julep is a monthly nail polish (and beauty) subscription service.  They offer a “My Maven” box for $24.99/month which contains $40+ worth of product and polish or “Maven Luxe” for $39.99/month which contains $60+ of prestige products.  Both boxes are fully customizable and you have the option to switch between tiers.

Julep ships via FedEx Smart Post out of Ohio and tends to take just a few days to arrive to me. You make your selections for the box between the 20th and 25th of the month and you can expect to receive your box in the first few days of the next month.

I usually get add-ons with my box so it’s always packed extra full.

The March 2016 Julep theme was “Lighten Up” and my selections were as follows:

~Cecile (It Girl) ($11.20 / $14): Cecile is a caribbean breeze holographic jelly.  Jelly polishes are thinner than “regular” polishes and are almost like mixing a bottle of regular polish with a bottle of clear.  The polish goes on super smoothly, but you need multiple coats.  I love the way they look though and don’t mind the extra coats.

~Yiyi (Bombshell) ($11.20 / $14): Yiyi is a pink freesia holographic jelly. It’s almost got a plum look to it in the swatch.  I just switched my polish this weekend, but I think I am going to need to redo them again because I need this color on my nails asap!

~Illume Eye Brightener – Pink ($17.60 / $22): This is a lightweight eye illuminator.  It’s got a twist bottom and (as usual) don’t twist it like crazy or you are going to end up with a ton of product on your brush.  I didn’t think any was coming out, but all of a sudden it did. It’s a really subtle highlighter and can be worn alone or under foundation.

~Add-Ons: For my add-ons this month I opted for another Illume Face & Eye Brightener (for a friend), Julep’s Conditioning Nail Polish Remover and the March Mystery Trio.  I then received a free polish as my bonus gift for getting three add-ons.  I need to remember to write down the cost of each of the add-ons because I can never remember exactly.  They are always a great deal though and I do love getting the freebie for getting 3+ add-ons.

All totaled I came up with a value of $40 ($50 using non-Maven prices) for my March 2016 Julep box.  I am really loving the jelly polishes and think the Illume is really nice and easy to use.

What did you get in your Julep this month? Julep is currently offering 50% off their new “Happy Go Lucky” / St. Patrick’s Day Welcome Box using coupon code “GLAMROCK” at checkout! This limited edition beauty box includes Lucky (It Girl) and Margot (Bombshell) nail polishes plus When Pencil Met Gel in Bronze Shimmer. ($44 Value). If you opt for a 3-month prepaid subscription your first month will be FREE!
