Birchbox April 2016 “Effortlessly Elegant” Featured Box Review + Coupon Codes
Birchbox offers 4-6 (sometimes more) hand-picked beauty and lifestyle samples, delivered to your door each month. You can review the samples you receive on a monthly basis to earn points in their shop, which makes the “real” cost of the box even less. Points accumulate until you are ready to spend, so you can stockpile and combine with coupon codes to get some complete steals (which I try to do).  I have been subscribing to Birchbox for almost 4 years now and would say they are one of the most (maybe the most) well known subscription boxes out there. They are certainly one of the longest lasting boxes.

Birchbox ships via USPS and all boxes generally ship by the 10th of the month. Mine have been arriving earlier and earlier every month and I love it.

Since I have two accounts I generally opt for that month’s curated box on one account and opt for the standard Birchbox on the other account.  This review is on the April 2016 “Effortlessly Elegant” Featured Box.

Isn’t this box gorgeous?  Birchbox collaborated with Rifle Paper Co. (for the second year in row) on these boxes and they are just beautiful.

These samples looked like they were great sizes!

The April 2016 Birchbox “Effortlessly Elegant” Featured Box included the following items:

~Laura Geller New York Baked Blush-n-Brighten (Tropic Hues) (0.04oz) ($6.36): This blush is “basked from liquid pigments” and much more neutral than I was expecting.  It looks so bright in the package, but on my skin it turned into a deep almost tannish pink.  Super pretty!

~TOCCA Crema da Mano – Hand Cream (Giulietta) (1oz) ($5): I haven’t gotta a TOCCA hand cream in a subscription box in a while so this is amazing!  It’s pink tulip and green apple scented and is a nice clean scent.  I picked up more of the green apple than the tulip, but it does have a nice floral scent as well.  TOCCA hand cream isn’t greasy and makes my hands feel great.

~Marcelle 3-in-1 Micellar Solution (50mL / 1.7 fl.oz) ($3.50): This 3-in-1 solution removes makeup, cleanses skin, and soothes irritation.  I am always drawn to these types of solutions and liked how clean it made my skin feel.

~Dr. Jart+ Liftra™ Contour Cream (5mL / 0.17fl.oz) ($6): This cream is designed to change the look of your skin itself.  The formula contains polymer and collagen threads which attract moisture and elasticity for a clear complexion while lifting and tightening.   I am not totally clear on how that all works, but I do know that it was like magic on my skin.  It felt smoother and made my skin look instantly refreshed.  I am fascinated by this and think it’s one of the best subscription box discoveries I have gotten in a long time.

~PARLOR® by Jeff Chastain Volumizing Lifting Spray (30mL / 1fl.oz) ($4.90): This seems to be a Birchbox regular, but I like it so it’s not a big deal. It smells good and gives my normally flat hair a nice boost.

All totaled my April 2016 Birchbox “Effortlessly Elegant” Featured Box had a value of $25.76.  Including the points I get for purchasing the box (10 points = $1 to spend in the Birchbox Shop) and reviewing / sharing the items in the box (60 points = $6), the value increases to $32.76.

Have you gotten your Birchbox yet this month? What’d you think?  If you are interested in subscribing, use coupon code  “RIFLEBOOKS” to get a free pair of Rifle Paper Co Pocket Notebooks with all new Birchbox subscription purchases!
