Birchbox offers a $10/month beauty subscription service, but every once in a while they also offer limited edition boxes such as this one. This Birchbox Beauty in Bloom is their latest Limited Edition Box. Birchbox Beauty in Bloom is their annual Spring box and is sometimes referred to as their Mother’s Day box.
From Birchbox:
“Fresh-cut flowers are typically reserved for special occasions, but we’re firm believers that every day should feel special and important. Consider this box the beauty equivalent of a blooming bouquet. The thoughtful collection is filled with luxe treats and indulgences—like a refreshing rose mist, a cult-classic lavender hand cream, a prettily packaged perfume, and a chic vanity tray—to make even the most humdrum days feel a little bit fancier. The best part? These beauties are 100 percent wilt-proof.”
My Birchbox Beauty in Bloom box shipped via USPS and took just a few days to arrive.
Isn’t the packaging on this one beautiful? Birchbox Limited Edition boxes (and lately their monthly ones) are always so beautiful and they coordinate well with the theme of the box.
The Birchbox Beauty in Bloom contained the following items:
~Darphin INTRAL Toner (50mL / 1.7fl.oz) ($5.40): This is probably the gentlest toner I have ever used. It left my skin feeling refreshed and clean, without the slightest bit of tingling or irritation. According to the description, it’s designed to “soothe your complexion and minimize redness as it whisks away impurities” and I felt like it did just that.
~Davines OI / Oil Absolute Beautifying Potion (50ml / 1.7fl.oz) ($17.85): Davines oil is designed to instantly tame frizz while also leaving your hair as smooth and shiny as ever. Birchbox suggests using 2-3 pumps and I found that two did the trick for me. It made my hair look super healthly – almost like I had just gotten a haircut.
~Jurlique Rosewater Balancing Mist (15mL / 0.5fl.oz) ($5.30): This rose scented mist “balances pH levels and refreshes skin”. I honestly couldn’t see any difference after using it, but I did find it to be refreshing.
~Laura Geller New York Baked Color True Blush (Maui) (Full-size) ($28): I received “Maui” which is “a warm pop of opalescent tawny rose that leaves you with a natural-looking glow.” The color was brighter than I was expecting so I am going to need to use a light touch when I apply it. The container is HUGE so this should last me basically forever.
~Lollia Relax Shea Butter Handcreme (Travel-Size) ($15): “Relax” has notes of lavender, Indian amber and Tahitan vanilla. I love this handcreme. I am a huge handcreme (and lip balm) junkie as it is, but this one is really great. It’s rich and moisturizing, but it’s not hard to rub into your skin and it wasn’t greasy.
~Mally Beauty Eye-Amplifying Shadow Liner (Stone) (Full-Size) ($20): This pencil can be used as a liner or as a shadow. I love the color and will personally be using it as a shadow and not so much as a liner.
~NEST Fragrances Grapefruit Votive Candle (0.95oz) ($6.33): This citrus candle has notes of watery green nuances, lilly of the valley and corriander blossom. I don’t like the taste of grapefruits, but I love the smell. They smell like beach vacations and summer!
~NEST Fragrances Indigo Eau de Parfum (3mL) ($9.38): Indigo is infused with Moroccan tea and wild fig. I’m not sure that is how I would describe it, but I do really like it. It’s not too strong and I feel like it’s a scent you could wear daily.
~Smith & Cult The Shining Lip Lacquer (Hi-Speed Sonnet) (Full-Size) ($22): I am such a fan of Smith & Cult. Their packaging is so unique and beautiful. This gloss isn’t sticky and gives your lips a bit of a plump without that weird tingling that some glosses have.
~stila HUGE™ Extreme Lash Mascara (6ml / 0.2fl.oz) ($10.45): Fabulous mascara! It lengthened, didn’t clump or flake and had great staying power. That’s pretty much all I need from a mascara so I am happy.
~Umbra Prisma Tray ($15): I actually received the matching frame to this in a recent Mommy Mailbox box. This style doesn’t work for my bedroom, but I am thinking it might be nice on the bathroom sink to hold perfumes and jewelry or on the small table I have in my closet.
~Swatches
Mystery Sample Pack: My Mystery Sample pack with this box was awesome. I received a Cowshed Lippy Cow Natural Lip Balm ($3.51) and a Model Co. Power Lash Black Mascara(~$10).
All totaled the Birchbox Beauty in Bloom has a value of $154.71. Per Birchbox, this box is valued at $188, but I am not sure how they came up with that value? Still it’s a great value and I am quite happy with it.
