blissmo ships via USPS on a monthly basis.  They are one of the original subscription boxes and have been around for at least 3-4 years.

Everything was neatly packed in the box, however, it didn’t include an information card.  I don’t know about you, but I personally love information cards in boxes.  I feel like they tie the entire thing together.

The March 2016 blissmo Snack box contained the following items:

~Hemp Heart Bar – Chocolate: I’m not sure I realized that Hemp Heart made bars, but I couldn’t be more thrilled to find out.  This is really good.   And with 10g of protein and 10g Omega 3 & 6, it’s way better for me than many of the other bars I eat.

v
~Hemp Hearts Raw Shelled Hemp Seeds: Hemp Heart seeds can be enjoyed right from the package or you can add them to your yogurt, oatmeal, ice-cream or even toss them into salads.  I like them on salads for a little extra crunch.  I don’t enjoy them enough to eat them right from the bag as a snack, but in a salad they are great.

~Kiwa Golden Plantain Chips: I am really weird about dried fruit in general, but these were fantastic!  I was impressed.  They were crunchy and had a great true banana flavor.  I think these were our favorite snack in the box so I was thrilled we received two.

~Kiwa Vegetable Chips Mix: I didn’t love these quite as much as the ones above, but they were decent. The chips were Beet, Cassava, Parsnip, Plantain and Sweet Potato flavored, so there was a lot going on.  I loved the Plantain and Sweet Potato ones, but I could probably have skipped the rest.

~I Heart Keenwah Chocolate Sea Salt Quinoa Cluster: These I loved. I pretty much like anything with Chocolate and Sea Salt in it though.  They are gluten-free and I really need to find out if they sell these near me because they’d make a great snack for my 2nd grader at school.

~Bite Fuel Protein Granola Trail Mix (Red Berry): I have been so into granola lately. I don’t know what it is, but I can’t get enough.  I probably could have done without so many berries (and really there weren’t even that many), but that’s a personal preference for sure.

~Kutoa Blueberry Almond Bar: I haven’t gotten a chance to try this one yet, but it’s gluten-free, soy-free, vegan and non-GMO. And for every Kutoa bar you purchase, they will give a meal to a child in need.

~Chic A Peas Baked Crunchy Chickpeas: Now these would be killer on a salad.   I received the crunchy salsa flavor (which are gluten-free, non-GMO and have only 100 calories per serving) and just kept thinking as I was eating them how amazing they’d be on a salad (in place of crutons).  I would also love to find these at a store near me.

~Tosi Almond Super Bites: Meh.  These organic super bites are an excellent source of protein, omega 3’s, and fiber, but I personally didn’t think they had enough flavor. They certainly weren’t bad, but also not something I’d go out of my way to try.

~Lush Nuts Handcrafted Peanuts Dark Cocoa Chili: I am sending these off to B’s work for the guys there to test out.  Every once in a while I will send a bag B off with a bag of snacks from subscription boxes for his office.  We can’t eat them all and I know they love them.

blissmo March 2016 Subscription Box Review

I received eleven snacks in this box which works out to about $2 per snack.  Maybe not an amazing value, but it did introduce me to a few new favorites which is the best part of subscription boxes for me!

You’re not alone on the chocolate and sea salt. Anything with this combination and i’m SOLD. Really wish I could get my hands on these snacks. Not sure about the hemp seeds though, I tried it once in my company while we were trying out new combinations for our snacks and was not drawn by the taste. But i’m sure if it’s incorporated with something else it would be nice, and the salad sounds satisfying! This is an interesting article and I can definitely share it with my colleagues 🙂
