My April 2016 Target “hello, SUNSHINE” Beauty Box has arrived! This Target Beauty Box was $7 (they vary in price from $5-$10) and was available through Target’s website for a limited time only. It was released on April 4th and sold out in just a few hours. There is no set schedule to when these boxes are released, and we never know exactly what date or time they will go on sale, but generally it’s been the first of the month (maybe the first Monday of the month?) around 5-6am EST. These are NOT subscription boxes and must be purchased individually as they are released.
Target Beauty Box ships via USPS and arrived about a week after I ordered it.
Target releases the contents of their Beauty Boxes at the time they go on sale, but opening them is always fun!
The April 2016 “hello, SUNSHINE” Target Beauty Box included the following faves to get you prepped and ready as you head outside:
~Maybelline® Dream Velvet Foundation (Sample): This felt like a thicker version of a BB creme to me. It applied smoothly like a BB creme does for me, but it had much better coverage.
~Laneige Water Bank Soothing Gel Mask (1 Mask) ($4.80): This sheet mask is moisturizing and left me feeling quite refreshed. Sheet masks kind of force me to sit still, so I find them to be the most relaxing.
~Pantene Airspray Hairspray 2 Dot (1oz) ($0.71): The packaging on this one looks old school and I love it! This may sound weird, but I use hair spray on my hair wet more often than I do when it’s dry. If I am out of texture / volumizing spray I will use hairpsray on my wet hair (just a little) and then blow it dry. Works great in a pinch!
~COVERGIRL Colorlicious Lipstick (Temptress Rose) ($5.99): I am guessing colors varied on this one, but I received “Temptress Rose”. It’s really bright for me, but I was quite impressed with the formula and the staying power.
~Hawaiian Tropic® Island Sport Ultra Light with SPF 30+ (2fl.oz.) ($2): This sunscreen is oil-free and non-greasy. It’s not the first sunscreen I would grab at the store, but it does the job and it will not go unused here. With two boys who play outside everyday in the summer, we go through a lot of sunscreen.
~Marlowe. No. 022 Body Butter (1fl.oz) ($1.25): I was expecting this one to be unscented, but it actually has a light almost fruity scent which I loved. The body butter is thick and moisturizing without being greasy. It left my hands feeling amazing!
~Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes (7 wipes) ($1): Cleansing wipes are one of my favorite beauty inventions. They are so easy to use and are a lifesaver for traveling. These contain no harsh chemicals or artifical perfumes and dyes.
~CeraVe Healing Ointment (2.5g) (~$0.25): CeraVe is an unscented healing balm. It’s ideal on rough spots and isn’t greasy at all. It’s also artificial color-free, labeled paraben-free, contains no added fragrance, Dermatologist Tested, Dye-free, Hypoallergenic, Noncomedogenic and Phthalate-free!
All totaled I came up with a value of approximately $16 for the April 2016 “hello, SUNSHINE” Target Beauty Box. As usual I loved this box and so wish Target would just go ahead and make it a monthly subscription! ETA: The box also includes a $3 off $15 coupon for your next Target or Target.com beauty purchase.
As I mentioned this box is now sold out, but I will post as soon as Target releases the next Beauty Box and will also send out an e-mail to those on my Newsletter list.
