BarkBox May 2016 Subscription Box Review + Coupon Code

BarkBox is a monthly subscription box for dogs. Each monthly box contains a combination of 4-6 treats, toys, and hygiene products that have been hand-selected and approved by Scout (the dog), head product tester for BarkBox. All treats included in the boxes are sourced from the USA and Canada, and chews are sourced from the USA, Canada, South America, Australia and New Zealand, so you can be assured that your pet is only getting safe, high-quality items. Boxes can be customized based on the size of your pet (I get the Small box for the furries) and you can add an extra toy to your box for an extra $9/month. We have been getting BarkBox for ages and have always been satisfied with them.

BarkBox ships via DHL Global Mail (starts out with DHL and is delivered by the Post Office) and took just a few days to arrive this month. I generally expect it to arrive on or around the 20th of the month.

I always love opening our BarkBox to see if I can guess the theme.

The May 2016 BarkBox theme was “County Fair” and included the following items:

~Makin Loopie Pie ($12): How cute is this?  It was made just for BarkBox and contains three removable cherries, each of which have squeakers.  My dogs would never try to dig these out on their own (they wouldn’t even know to try), but still this is adorable.

~Little Piggies Dog Treats ($6): These treats look just like they do on the package.  They actually have little pigs on them.  They are quarter sized (maybe a tad bigger) and while my dogs usually don’t like hard treats, they really liked these.  They are all-natural, grain-free and made in the USA.

~Look Who’s Harry! Tempt’n Tenders ($6.09): Baxter (my shorkie) stood next to me the entire time I was opening this BarkBox and was sniffing these the most, so of course I opened them up for him.  He approves.  He totally approves.  They are soft jerky treats that are made in the USA with no glycerin, bi-products, added hormones, artificial preservative, flavors or colors.

~Happy Howie’s Beef Jerky Treats ($3.99): These jerky treats are made in the USA and contain no wheat, corn, nitrates or soy. The box contained a 2-pack so Baxter and Buddy both ran off with one.  They didn’t even fight about it which means it was so good they didn’t even want to take the time to fight with each other about it!

~Slobbery Sunflowers ($12): I can’t see Baxter and Buddy playing with this, but it’s so cute that I hope they do!  How cute would they be running around with these flowers in their mouth?

All totaled I came up with a value of $40.09 for the May 2016 BarkBox.  The values of BarkBox have been getting better and better lately and I just love their theme!  They do such a good job with them!

Do you subscribe to BarkBox?  What’d you think of this month’s box?  If you want to subscribe or learn more, click here. A monthly subscription is $29/month, but if you opt for a longer subscription, the price drops as low as $18/month (that’s what I get)!
