bluum May 2016 Subscription Box Review + Coupon Code

bluum, is a monthly box of goodies for moms and babies.  Products are hand-selected based on your child’s age (from pregnancy to preschool), gender and developmental stage.  They now have an option that allows you to select the items you wish to receive in your boxes which I think is awesome. You don’t have to pick, but the option is there if you’d like to. I have gotten bluum for years and while the boxes have had their ups and downs I have generally been pretty pleased with them and have stuck with my subscription (which is for my 4 year-old son – aka W).

bluum ships via FedEx Smart Post and generally takes about a week to arrive.  I typically plan on receiving it during the second half of the month.

I couldn’t remember what I had selected for this month’s box, but once I opened it up it all came back to me.

My May 2016 bluum box, for a 4 year-old boy, included the following items:

~Eco-Eggs Coloring & Grass Growing Kit ($9.99): This is kind of Easter’ish, but I knew my kids would get a kick out of coloring eggs “out of season”.  This set includes 3 natural dyes (orange, blue and purple) made with natural and organic fruit, plant and vegetable extracts from annatto seed, curcumin, purple sweet potato and red cabbage, a grass growing kit and an eco-crayon to decorate your eggs with prior to dipping.  We are going to start growing the grass and then do the eggs once it’s at a good length.

~Scrub Genie by PowerPuff ($5): The hardness of this sponge changes based on the temperature of the water.  Warm water makes it a soft scrubber, while cold water makes it a hard scrubber.  I am going to this over the weekend to clean all the light switches in my house. They SO need it!

~Babyganics Alcohol-Free Hand Sanitizing Wipes ($9.48): Babyganics wipes are alcohol-free and kill up to 99.9% of germs.  I don’t carry wipes for my kids anymore so these will be perfect to toss in my purse.  They are all indiviudally wrapped so they are totally portable.

~4M Make Your Own Badge Art ($7.99): I remember making badges in elementary school and I always thought it was SO cool!  I am looking forward to making these with the kids on a rainy day this summer.  The kit contains 4 resuable badges, 24 templates and markers to make them your own.

All totaled I came up with a value of $32.46 for the May 2016 bluum box.  Not a huge value, but I picked the contents myself so it was about what I was expecting.
