PASS to redeem in store for a free one-on-one learning session with a beauty expert. The six product samples in your PLAY! by SEPHORA box are from the same prestige brands Sephora carries in store and online, and they are sized to use multiple times.
Play! by Sephora ships via USPS. All Play! by Sephora boxes should arrive between the third and fourth week of each month.
Play! changed up their packaging a bit this month! Previously they had been using shredded paper and switched to this cute drawstring pouch.
I love this pouch! As silly as it may sound, it’s perfect for my 4 year-old’s marbles.
The included booklet features product information along with pro tips for each of the items in the box. The May 2016 Play! by Sephora box featured “Earth to Beauty” and included the following items:
~Atelier Cologne Orange Sanguine ($1): This is a tiny sample and it doesn’t have a sprayer ;(, but I do love the smell. It has notes of Blood Orange, Bitter Orange, Jasmine, Geranium, Amber Woods, Tonka Beans, Sandalwood. I love the fruitiness mixed in with the deeper amber and tonka. If only this was larger!
~Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche in Kimchi (0.05oz) ($8.67): Kimichi is a “shocking pink” and I must say, I was pretty shocked when I opened it up! It’s highly pigmented and very creamy and smooth. It’s a great lipstick, but the color is too bold for me personally. I also should mention that Bite Beauty products are free of Parabens, Sulfates and Phthalates.
~Tarte Tarteist Lip Crayon in Latergram ($1.80): “Tarteist” is a 2-in-1 liner that primes in addition to lining. I was scared to press too hard on this because the sample is so thin. Luckily you don’t need a lot of pressure to get the color to show.
~Origins Maskimizer, Drink Up, and Clear Improvement Masks (~$3): The “maskimizer” is a spray on product that “optimizers the skin’s condition”. It’s used to prime the skin before using a mask. I never knew that I needed a mask primer and really, I don’t think I do. I couldn’t tell difference in my skin. The “Clear Improvement” mask was my favorite. It’s cleans out your pores and left my skin looking way better. The “Drink Up” mask is for overnight use and is designed to deeply moisturize the skin.
~Korres Wild Rose Sleeping Facial (0.34fl.oz) ($12.67): This is billed as an “overnight facial in a jar”. It works for all skin types and is designed to help with dullness and uneven texture, uneven skintone and loss of firmness and elasticity. The smell is pretty strong but I like the idea of this. I need to use it longer to see some results, but I am happy to give it a try.
~Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask (29mL) ($9): This hair mask is designed to hydrate, restore and replenish and works best on dry, brittle, over-processed, and otherwise lackluster hair. My hair isn’t any of those things right now, so I need to save this for when it is!
~Swatches:
All totaled I came up with a value of $36.14 for the May 2016 Play! by Sephora. It was worth the $10 cost, but it didn’t wow me like last month or some of their other months.

Thanks for posting your review. I really love getting subscription boxes as little gifts to myself. I haven’t tried this one yet.
Did you receive an email for a Play! date for Thursday, May 26? When you click on the link there are locations to check, hopefully you are near one. I put a pic on my Instagram page about. Happy Saturday
