Beauty Box 5 delivers a sample box of all things beauty. Each box contains 4 – 5 samples of a variety of makeup, skin care, fragrances and everything in between! Boxes are $12/month if you do a month-to-month subscription, however, the price drops if you subscribe for an extended period of time.
Beauty Box 5 ships via DHL and I typically receive my box between the 10th and 15th of the month.
The June 2016 Beauty Box 5 theme was “Made in the Shade” and included the following items:
~Prestige Cosmetics Brow & Lash Brush ($2.95): I may not like to color in / shade in my brows, but I do like to brush them. That sounds weird, but they do get “bed head” and this fixes that issue.
~Manna Kadar Radiance Bronzer & Highlighter ($24): I already have these two items separately, but I like the split pan for traveling. The colors are flattering and easy to apply.
~Sweep Oval Contour & Highlight Brush ($15): This is an oval shaped brush that allows you to “gently dust on highlight and precisely place bronzer or blush on your cheekbones”. It’s super soft and unlike any brag I have ever tried.
~VersaSpa – Face Moisturizing Gradual Tanner (0.25fl.oz) ($4.38): This gives you a “gradual” tan while also hydrating skin and blurring fine lines. I received this in my Summer Beautycon box so now I get to use this longer and see how the tan builds.
~Pur-Lisse Blue Lotus Treatment Sheet Mask ($8): This is, hands down, my favorite item in the box. I have gotten a ton of pur-lisse items over the years in subscription boxes, but never a sheet mask! It’s infused with Blue Lotus and Asian botanicals and is designed to improve skin’s texture and delivers antioxidants to leave a healthier complexion. I have been using a ton of masks lately (probably too many), but this is next on my list to try.
All totaled I came up with a value of $54.33 for the June 2016 Beauty Box 5 box. They have been stepping up their game lately and it shows. With the changes that are coming to the Birchbox point system, this is one to consider as a replacement!

My shadow arrived broken, but it would have ended up in the trash with everything else outside of the Sweep brush. That alone was worth the price of the box.
