Birchbox offers 4-6 (sometimes more) hand-picked beauty and lifestyle samples, delivered to your door each month. You can review the samples you receive on a monthly basis to earn points in their shop, which makes the “real” cost of the box even less. Points accumulate until you are ready to spend, so you can stockpile and combine with coupon codes to get some complete steals (which I try to do). I have been subscribing to Birchbox for almost 4 years now and would say they are one of the most (maybe the most) well known subscription boxes out there. They are certainly one of the longest lasting boxes.
Birchbox ships via USPS and all boxes generally ship by the 10th of the month. Mine have been arriving earlier and earlier every month and I love it.
Since I have two accounts I generally opt for that month’s curated box on one account and opt for the standard Birchbox on the other account. This review is on the June 2016 “Multifaceted & Mighty” Featured Box.
Birchbox has been knocking it out of the park with their awesome packaging. This month’s box was no exception.
The June 2016 Birchbox “Multifaceted & Mighty” Featured Box included the following items:
~LOC One and Done Shadow Stick (Haute Cocoa) ($10): Subscribers who select the Multifacted & Mighty box will receive the Shadow Stick in either Haute Cocoa or Heavy Petal. I received the Haute Cocoa and couldn’t be more thrilled. It’s a gorgeous shimmery brown and the staying power is amazing.
~NUXE Rêve de Miel® Facial Cleansing and Make-Up Removing Gel (15mL) ($1.43): This product dissolves dirt, oil and makeup while soothing and softening skin. It seemed to do the job well enough and didn’t irriate my skin.
~The Beauty Crop PBJ Smoothie Stick (Raisin the Roof) (Full-Size) ($14.95): I *think* I am so excited about this because it has little blenders in it. I mean how cute is that? In addition to being cute, it’s also super moisturizing and a nice soft shade of pink. I didn’t think the staying power was all that, but it gives me an excuse to look at the cuteness of this!
~Air Repair Complexion-Boosting Moisturizing (0.24fl.oz) ($2.52):This aims to hydrate and revitalize skin. It didn’t leave my skin at all greasy and even after one use I felt like my skin was silky smooth.
~Davines Authentic Cleansing Nectar Hair/Body (90mL) ($9.16): Calling it nectar instead of just shampoo or body wash makes it sound so much fancier! It can also be used as either a body wash or a shampoo so it’s a great ite, for traveling. The smell isn’t my favorite, but it’s super light so it’s not a deal breaker.
~Davines Authentic Moisturizing Balm Face/Hair/Body (12mL) ($2.12): This has a stronger smell than the nectar, but I think it smells better (it’s a floral / sunflower scent)? It’s a conditions hair, nourishes skin, and even removes makeup. I have no idea how one product does so much, but my skin did feel great after applying it, so it does work.
All totaled I came up with a value of $40.18 for the June 2016 “Multifaceted & Mighty” featured Birchbox. Including the points I get for purchasing the box (10 points = $1 to spend in the Birchbox Shop) and reviewing the items in the box (70 points = $7), the value increases to $48.18. That is an amazing value and I am thrilled with this box.
