Birchbox June 2016 Subscription Box Review + Coupon Codes

Birchbox offers 4-6 (sometimes more) hand-picked beauty and lifestyle samples, delivered to your door each month. You can review the samples you receive on a monthly basis to earn points in their shop, which makes the “real” cost of the box even less. Points accumulate until you are ready to spend, so you can stockpile and combine with coupon codes to get some complete steals (which I try to do).  I have been subscribing to Birchbox for almost 4 years now and would say they are one of the most (maybe the most) well known subscription boxes out there. They are certainly one of the longest lasting boxes.

Birchbox ships via USPS and all boxes generally ship by the 10th of the month. Mine have been arriving earlier and earlier every month and I love it.

Since I have two accounts I generally opt for that month’s curated box on one account and opt for the standard Birchbox on the other account.  This review is on the June 2016 “regular” box.

This box looked great!

My June 2016 Birchbox included the following items:

~balance me Congested Skin Serum (0.2fl.oz) ($10.34): This lightweight serum also doubles as a spot treatment for blemishes.  I have been using  it as the spot treatment and have already noticed the difference. It tames skin quickly and I didn’t have any issues with it drying my skin.

~Benefit Gimme Brow Volumizing Fiber Gel (1g) ($8): This item isn’t currently available to the public (it launches June 24th), but Birchbox subscribers are getting a sneak peek!  I have to admit, I am not huge into “doing” my brows.  I pluck / wax them, but I think I have filled them in approximately twice (that doesn’t include testing stuff).  And once was last week when I got them waxed and she insisted on filling them in. I will admit they looked good, but it’s just not me you know?  Anyway, while I am not an expert on filling in brows, I did think this did the job and if I filled my brows in I would probably use this.

~Kiehl’s Rare Earth Deep Pore Daily Cleanser (1fl.oz) ($4.50): This cleanser removes dirt and toxins without drying out skin.  It didn’t leave my skin tight or irritated and I am always thrilled to get Kiehl’s in a subscription box.

~Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray (37mL / 1oz) ($10): I love texture sprays.  My hair is flat and straight and I get crazy flyaways if I don’t put something in it.  This spray gives great texture and makes my hair “stay” better in messy buns and pony tails.

~The Beauty Crop PBJ Smoothie Stick (Raisin the Roof) (Full-Size) ($14.95): I actually received this same smoothie stick in the featured Birchbox this month so I will be passing this on to a friend.  As I mentioned yesterday, the color is nice and it’s very moisturizing, but I didn’t find it to be long-lasting.

All totaled I came up with a value of $47.79 for the June 2016 Birchbox. Including the points I get for purchasing the box (10 points = $1 to spend in the Birchbox Shop) and reviewing the items in the box (60 points = $7), the value increases to $54.79.  I didn’t go back and check, but it’s possible this is the highest value Birchbox I have received.  Amazing!

Have you gotten your Birchbox yet this month? What’d you think?  If you are interested in subscribing, use coupon code “TICKLEDPINK” to get a free Smith & Cult The Shining Lip Lacquer (a $22 value) with all new Birchbox subscription purchases!
