Julep is a monthly nail polish (and beauty) subscription service. They offer a “My Maven” box for $24.99/month which contains $40+ worth of product and polish each month. You are able to fully customize your box so you are guaranteed to receive only products you think you’ll love!
Julep ships via FedEx Smart Post out of Ohio and tends to take just a few days to arrive to me. You make your selections for the box between the 20th and 25th of the month and you can expect to receive your box in the first few days of the next month.
The Julep site was having some issues when I tried to make my selections for this month and ended up not being able to make any changes or select any add-ons. I thought about e-mailing, but wasn’t too sold on any of the polishes this month so I didn’t bother.
The June 2016 Julep theme was “Midsummer Light”. My box contained the following items:
~Matilda (Color of the Year) ($11.20 / $14): Matilda is a serenity blue creme. It’s probably not a color I would have selected on my own, but wow, I LOVE it in person. It’s a periwinkle blue and is just perfect for Spring. This will be on my nails this weekend.
~Naveena (Wonder Maven) ($11.20 / $14): Naveena is a lush jungle teal jelly. Julep’s jelly polishes are super fun, but it takes me tons of coats to make them look good. Like if I don’t put enough on they look uneven and goopy. Does anyone have any tips?
~Skip the Brush – Sweet Peach ($12 / $24): These sticks are designed for your cheeks, but work on your lips and eyes as well. I received the “Sweet Peach” shade and it’s growing on me. It looked a little bright at first, but once blended in, it’s fabulous. They are easy to use and super easy to blend in with you fingers. They are ideal for traveling!
All totaled, using Maven pricing, my June Julep box had a value of $34.40. The Skip the Brush stick was on special for 1/2 off, so that decreased the value. I wouldn’t necessarily have selected these items had I been the one picking, but I ended up liking this box more in person than I thought I would.
