BarkBox August 2016 Subscription Box Review + Coupon CodeBarkBox is a monthly subscription box for dogs. Each monthly box contains a combination of 4-6 treats, toys, and hygiene products that have been hand-selected and approved by Scout (the dog), head product tester for BarkBox. All treats included in the boxes are sourced from the USA and Canada, and chews are sourced from the USA, Canada, South America, Australia and New Zealand, so you can be assured that your pet is only getting safe, high-quality items. Boxes can be customized based on the size of your pet and you can add an extra toy to your box for an extra $9/month. We have been getting BarkBox for ages and have always been satisfied with them.

BarkBox
ships via DHL Global Mail (starts out with DHL and is delivered by the Post Office) and took just a few days to arrive this month. I generally expect it to arrive on or around the 20th of the month.

I didn’t know what the theme was just yet, but I already knew I was happy!

This is the cutest information card ever.  It’s like US Weekly, for dogs! The August 2016 BarkBox  theme was “California DROOLIN'” and is a tour of the Golden Retriever State’s many-splendored things.  My box, which is for a Small dog, included the following:

~Crumps’ Natural Beef Tendersticks ($4.99): These beef sticks are made in Canada from 100% beef.  That’s it, they are just beef.  Buddy loved them.  As I was opening the box he sat next to me and just stared at me until I was done taking pictures.  Then he just sat next to the box and stared at me.  LOL!  I gave him one of these and he was pretty pleased with it.  He would have had another if I let him ;).

~The Lazy Dog Cookie Co. Baja Fish Biscuits ($7): These contain: oat flour, brown rice syrup, canola oil, whitefish, carrots, and kale.  Buddy hasn’t gotten to these yet and I actually may give them to my brother’s dogs to enjoy.  They like crunchy treats while Buddy would just prefer soft ones.

~Butchers Block Pet Treats Beef Knee Cap ($0.99): This looks gross, smells gross and Buddy loves it ;).  The label says “Do not use on carpets”, which I read to Buddy, but I don’t think he cared. Once I gave it to him he immediately took it to our carpet like rug.  Oh well.  As long as he’s happy.  And he doesn’t take it on the couch ;).

~Fish Taco (~$8): LOL!  This cracked me up.  It’s a rubber fish in a stuffed taco. I could actually see Buddy chewing on this.

~Surf’s Up Sam (~$8): Ha!  Surf’s Up Sam is adorable!  It’s got a crunchy paper inside coating, but it also makes a rattle noise.  Buddy can only pick it up by its hair, but he seems to like it.

All totaled my August 2016 BarkBox had a value of about $29.  That’s equal to the cost of the box, but their curation is just spot on.  They do such a great job with their themes and we love them!
