This month’s information card was a complete booklet instead of their normal little card. I love the improvement! The August 2016 “Sun Kissed” GLOSSYBOX included the following items:

~Trifle Cosmetics Lip Parfait Buttery Lip Cream ($18.95): Subscribers will receive either “Guilty Pug” or “Exotic Fruits”.  I received the “Guilty Pug”.  I was expecting it to be more of a sheer, soft color, but it’s a “real” lipstick.  Guilty Pug is a rust color and while it’s a little too orange for me, I think my sister-in-law will love it.  I know for sure she will love the packaging.  It’s also important to note that this is vegan and contains no parabens, no phthalates, no mineral oil and is hypoallergenic.

~Too Faced Mascara Melt Off Cleansing Oil Waterproof Mascara Dissolver (0.04oz) ($2.96): This is probably one of the most interesting products I have gotten in a subscription box lately.  It literally melts your mascara off.  You coat your lashes with the cleansing oil (the wand is similar to a mascara wand, but without the full brush), wait 60 seconds and then it sweep it away with a damp cloth or makeup wipe.  It really works.

~Borghese Fango Active Mud for Face & Body (1oz) ($4.50): Subscribers will receive either one of four Borghese Face + Body Muds or Borghese Body Refining Polish.  I received the “Active Active Mud for Face and Body”.  It’s creamy and is designed to unclog pores, eliminate dead skin cells and detoxify impurities.  It made me feel like I was at a spa when I used it in the shower today.  So nice~

~Wella Oil Reflections Smoothing Oil (1fl.oz) ($20): This oil smooths hair and makes it shiny without weighing it down.  You can also use it while your hair is wet for heat protection.  It smells amazing (it has a  light nutty scent) and basically left my hair looking like I just walked out of the salon.  One note: A little goes a long way.  One or two pumps is just about all you need.

~De Bruyère After Sun Lotion (1.7fl.oz) ($12): My goodness, this packaging!  So beautiful.  It’s designed as an after-sun lotion and works to calm, nourish and protect skin that has been weakened after sun exposure. Per the information card it has a “monoï” smell, which are Tiare Flower petals that have been soaked in coconut oil. I didn’t find it too flowery, but instead thought it was a nice tropical scent.

~invisibobble hair ties ($8): Love these!  They are “the traceless hair ring”.  It’s basically an old school phone card turned into a hair tie.  I love them.  They look cute on my wrist and hold my hair back nicely.

All totaled the August 2016 GLOSSYBOX had a value of $66.41.  That’s a nice value (over 3x the cost of the box) and I’m pretty excited about everything in here, so it’s a win!

What do you think of the August 2016 GLOSSYBOX? If you are interested in ordering, you’re in luck because the August box (note: your box may be slightly different than the one I received as there are some variations with GB) is still available here.

September Sneak Peek (per the information booklet):
“As September quickly approaches, the world turns its eyes to the fashion and beauty scene.  GLOSSYBOX has collaborated with an extremely talented illustrator to bring you a keepsake, specially-designed box replete with products for you to set the stage, walk the runway, or simply vogue”.

This was my second “purchased” box as I received 2 bonus boxes with my first order. This box was remarkably unremarkable. First, everything is tiny, as someone else stated, hotel sized which is fine for a couple things but for everything? Second, the lip butter is horrible. The worst color looks white on me & I have very white skin as it is, I gave it to my friend & she gave it back, a big thanks but no thanks, and it leaves my lips so dry I won’t even wear it to bed, and by that I mean alone. It’s the worst & probably the only thing full size. Of course. The mask is nice, I like the hair coil, but how much is that worth? $2? The teaser for this box was so enticing, but this box totally bummed me out.

Not that it matters, but they used the same image on this information card as the did for August 2013, it’s just flipped with the board facing the opposite way. I thought it looked familiar haha.
