Beauty Box 5 delivers a sample box of all things beauty. Each box contains 4 – 5 samples of a variety of makeup, skin care, fragrances and everything in between! Boxes are $12/month if you do a month-to-month subscription. However, the price drops if you subscribe for an extended period.
Beauty Box 5 ships via DHL and I typically receive my box between the 10th and 15th of the month.
This box was packed so full that it barely closed.
The September 2016 Beauty Box 5 theme was “Staff Picks!” and included the following items:
~pur-lisse Blue Lotus Essential Daily Moisturizer SPF30 (15mL) ($16.50): pur~lisse is a great brand, but they have appeared in so many subscription boxes that I am getting burned out by them. This is a daily moisturizer with built in SPF. It’s a nice lightweight moisturizer, and I love that it has SPF in it, but again I feel like I have gotten this sample (or a similar version of it) lots of times already.
~Be a Bombshell Smooth Criminal HD Finishing Powder (4g) ($7): This can be used alone or over foundation to help minimize the look of fine lines and pores. It’s really nice over a BB cream, and I do think it works. Apply lightly, though!
~Simple Skincare Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes (7ct) ($2.19): Now we do get a lot of facial cleansing wipes in subscription boxes too, but I never get tired of them. These are a lifesaver for late nights or early mornings. They contain no artificial perfumes or dyes and also have no harsh chemicals.
~Happy Brands Happy Hair Turban ($18): I can’t find this online anywhere, so I used the price on the information card. It’s designed to cut down drying time on your hair while also reducing frizz and breakage. I need to figure out how to tie this thing to make it stay on. It seems like there is an easy way, but I don’t know it.
~Go Smile Teeth Whitening Gel (0.5oz) ($4.26): To use this apply an equal amount of this and your favorite toothpaste to a dry toothbrush and brush like normal. No results yet (it’s way too soon), but I think this will be an easy way to try for a whiter smile.
All totaled the September 2016 Beauty Box 5 had a value of $47.95. Nice value, but I wasn’t wowed by this. It seemed fairly standard for Beauty Box 5 and nothing stood out to me. Don’t get me wrong, the value was there and I am not disappointed, but I am not overly excited either.

The hair turban: The tail of the towel tucks into that little white elastic loop do you see it? So your head goes on the big part, you twist the little part, and you tuck the tail into the elastic loop. 🙂 Hope that makes sense 🙂
