bluum is a monthly box of goodies for moms and babies. Products are hand-selected based on your child’s age (from pregnancy to preschool), gender and developmental stage. They now have an option that allows you to select the items you wish to receive in your boxes which I think is awesome. You don’t have to pick, but the option is there if you’d like to. I have gotten bluum for years, and while the boxes have had their ups and downs, I have generally been pretty pleased with them and have stuck with my subscription (which is for my four-year-old son – aka W).
bluum ships via FedEx Smart Post and generally takes about a week to arrive. I typically plan on receiving it during the second half of the month.
My last few bluum boxes have been less than stellar (they subbed an item without letting me know, my box values were low, etc.), so bluum‘s customer service added two items to my September box. So instead of getting to select four items (which is the normal amount for bluum), I was able to select six.
My September 2016 bluum box, for a 4-year-old boy, included the following items:
~RePlay 1 pk Divided Plate – Red ($3): I know this is more of a baby / toddler plate, but we love divided plates around here. No one really likes to have their food touching, and I feel the same way ;). The best part of this plate though is that it’s BPA-free and made out of recycled milk jugs.
~Stephen Joseph Shark Snack Box ($4.90): This little box will work for a small lunch, a snack on the go or even to hold craft / art supplies.
~Jean Pierre Daily Cleansing Towelettes ($8.39): Love these! I used them at night when I am tired and don’t want to wash my face and also to remove makeup swatches. They work great and don’t cost a fortune.
~Jean Pierre Regenerating Pomegranate Cream ($19.99): This cream contains a high concentration of pure pomegranate oil and is rich in powerful antioxidants, and vitamins A, C and E. I still have a few creams to use up, but it is supposed to smooth wrinkles, help repair tissue damage and improve the elasticity of the skin.
~Crocodile Creek Placemat ($4.99): I guess I picked this, but I am not sure why? It’s going to take me a while to get it to flatten out so that I can actually use as a placemat though. There has to be a better way to ship something like this right?
~Making Friends (~$8): This book is so sweet. It’s all about how being kind, helpful and sharing is the best way to make friends.
All totaled I came up with a value of $49.27 for the September 2016 bluum box. That’s a great value, but it’s mainly because I had two extra items in this month’s box. Hopefully, their selections start to get better, and they add a 5th item to boxes. It says “coming soon” on the page when you make your selections, and I would love to see it happen!

My sub was supposed to end after last month’s box, but they extended my sub for another month to make up for July’s horrendous box. I logged in yesterday and my selections weren’t saved, there was one open spot. So I selected a 4th item, and we’ll see if I actually get a box or any of the items I picked. Super disappointed in this box, most of the time the items barely cover the cost of the box.
