bluum is a monthly box of goodies for moms and babies. Products are hand-selected based on your child’s age (from pregnancy to preschool), gender and developmental stage. They now have an option that allows you to select the items you wish to receive in your boxes which I think is awesome. You don’t have to pick, but the option is there if you’d like to. The selections were pretty limited this month, so I allowed bluum to make the picks for me.
I have gotten bluum for years, and while the boxes have had their ups and downs (as you will see this month), I have generally been pretty pleased with them and have stuck with my subscription (which is for my four-year-old son – aka W).
bluum ships via FedEx Smart Post and generally takes about a week to arrive. I typically plan on receiving it during the second half of the month. The October 2016 box was very delayed (it arrived about 3 weeks after it usually does), however, bluum did not send any notifications or updates about the status of the box.
Forgive the horrible picture quality here (it was dark when my box arrived today), but I was so curious to see what was inside that I just couldn’t resist opening it up right away.
My October 2016 Pre-K bluum (again for a 4 year-old boy) contained the following:
~All Around the World Book of Stickers ($5.99): This book contains stickers of landmarks like the Statue of Liberty, Big Ben, the Kremlin, pagodas, the Easter Island statue and more. There are 8 sheets total and each sheet seems to have about 8 stickers on them. I think they are cute, but I am not totally sure what my 4 year-old will do with them.
~Misunderstood Bats Pop-Up Book ($13.99): This is an informational pop-up book. It’s packed with factual information about bats along with cool 3-D illustrations. We all thought this book was very neat.
All totaled my October 2016 bluum had two item and a value of $19.98. The information card (viewable online) shows that it should have also included a Fresh Baby Push Pop Maker ($2.95) and an Oilogic Ouchies & Boo Boos Essential Oil ($9.99) which would have brought the value to $32.95. For being 3 weeks late I wouldn’t have expected to be missing half the box. I’ll be reaching out to bluum, but I am not at all pleased with this month’s box.
Did you get bluum in October? What was in it and what’d you think? Was it as delayed as my box was?
I tried bluum twice and was disappointed both times. I thought they would get their act together after citrus lane closed the doors but I honestly think bluum has been getting worse.
Uuuuh… is it rude to say they dropped the ball on this one? I have been paying attention to bluum reviews – thinking I might subscribe once my son is born in February (or if they end up with an awesome deal before then…) but after this review.. I’m just not sure. I like the two products you did receive! I’d save the stickers – maybe use them with a laminated world map and place the stickers where they are in the world? Not all at once of course, but maybe as 8 different mini lessons. The two items you were missing would have little to no value to me personally but I’d be upset receiving a box with a sticker book and pop up book only.
LOL. No! They big time dropped the ball and it’s even worse that they didn’t send out any communication about it!!
I just received my October Box today and I’m in the same boat as you! I was hoping to get all my selected items, but looks like they changed one of my items without telling me and then they only shipped two items. Bluum is looks to be heading to disappear. Selections are also horrible if you decide to choose your products.
Ugh!!!!!
