fabfitfun is a quarterly subscription box that includes hand-selected items (the “hottest of the season”) in beauty, fashion, fitness and wellness from the fabfitfun team. fabfitfun is billed quarterly and beginning with their Summer 2014 box; they ship to Canada!
fabfitfun ships via FedEx Smart Post. Unlike the past few boxes, this quarter’s box shipped quickly! I did purchase an add-on (I’ll do a separate post on that), and I am a VIP subscriber, so that may be why it arrived so quickly.
I checked out the spoilers for this box and was just kind of meh on them. It’s always different to open it up and go thru everything, though!
The fabfitfun insert is more of a mini magazine than an information card. It has articles, interviews, etc.
The Winter 2016 fabfitfun box included the following items:
~Gorjana Taner Toggle Lariat Necklace in Gold ($70): This is necklace is gorgeous. It’s very delicate and absolutely beautiful. It’s a longer necklace (23.5in) and can be adjusted to suit your preference. It’ll go with everything and can be dressed up or down. I like that it’s not a statement necklace as I will get much more use out of this one. The box also included a $20 coupon for Gorjana. Note: VIP Subscribers could choose between the Gorjana Taner Toggle Lariat Necklace in Gold or the Kiernan Double Pendant Necklace in Silver).
~D.L. & Co Candle (Blackberry Nectar) ($44): I love candles! I opted for the Blackberry Nectar scent which has notes of red mint, blackberry jam, raspberry nectar and berry honey. It’s amazing. It’s a 7oz candle and has a burn time of 40 hours. One note – the holder wasn’t as shiny as I was expecting it to be. Is it almost like it’s faded? I’m not planning to gift it, but had I been I would have been disappointed as it’s not quite as perfect as the ones in the picture online. Did anyone else have this issue? Note: VIP subscribers could choose between Bergamot Woods or Blackberry Nectar.
~Moleskin 2017 Weekly Planner ($20.95): Ahh, a planner! I already have a planner for 2017, so I may end up using this one for meal planning / points tracking (I do Weight Watchers). It’s a weekly planner and each week also has a blank lined page – so you can use it for To Do List, grocery lists, etc. Also, make sure to check the back pouch (I almost missed it) because there are stickers inside! Note: VIP subscribers could choose between Green or Purple.
~Marie Mae Thank You Card Set (FabFitFun Exclusive) ($24): These cards are a FabFitFun exclusive. It’s a set of 10 and they have a blue polka dots on a cream background with “Cheers” in gold foil. They are note cards (they don’t open) and are billed as Thank You cards, but I think they’d work for just about anything from just dropping a note to a friend or using them as a party invite.
~Butter London Iconoclast Mega Volume Lacquer Mascara ($20): With all the subscription boxes I get, you’d think I’d have a constant supply of mascara on hand. Wrong! I don’t know where it all went, but I needed this! It gave me great volume and didn’t clump. I did need to use a lash brush to separate my lashes, but I think that’s because I am not used to the wand / brush on this.
~O.R.G. Skincare Mineral Peel Face ($44): This is such a fun product to use. You spray it on, let absorb for a few seconds and then massage it off. It sounds kind of gross, but you’ll see the dead skin as you are massaging it off. It doesn’t feel like anything (it’s not harsh, and the product itself doesn’t have a texture), but it works!
~Anderson Lilley Winter in Manhattan Beach Body Cream (Sicilian Tangerine) ($24): This is a rich hydrating lotion, and it smells AMAZING. It has main notes of tangerine along with notes of mandarin, peach, bergamot, jasmine, mango, black currant, musk and vanilla. I put it on my feet before bed last night and will be using it all winter. Subscribers received either: Winter in Manhattan Beach or Sicilian Tangerine.
~Starlight Children’s Foundation Pin: The Starlight Children’s Foundation is this quarter’s FabFitFun partner. The pin is designed to promote awareness to their cause which is to brighten the lives of seriously ill children. They offer programs that provide the best in entertainment, education and innovative technology.
All totaled I came up with a value of $246.95 for the Winter 2016 fabfitfun box. The value was there, and I did like this one much more in person than I did just by looking at spoilers. However, I don’t think it topped their amazing Fall Box!
What do you think of the Winter 2016 fabfitfun box? It’s now sold-out, but you can still purchase the fabfitfun Editor’s Box (spoilers here). New customers can use coupon code “FAB10” to save $10 off the Editor’s Box as well.
