The October 2016 “One Bag” Kaffe Box No. featured the following:
~La Cabra Coffee Roasters – Karimikui: The October Roaster was La Cabra in Aarhus, Denmark. They roast their coffees by hand in small batches “to reveal the innate qualities of each coffee and to showcase the different varietals and terroir.” It’s important to note that La Cabra paid 353% over market rate for this coffee. Their goal is to establish a long-term transparent relationship with the shareholder farmer while bringing premium quality to their customers and also premium prices to farmers.
This month’s coffee is Karimikui from Kenya. The tasting notes are lemon, cane juice, and black currant. The beans are grown at an altitude of 1650 MASL and was harvested in January 2016.
B (my husband) is much more of a coffee guy than I am (I drink mine with a ton of milk) and was impressed by the bold flavor of this one. He said he would happily drink this again!
