Stitch Fix Review - December 2016

Stitch Fix is a personal styling service for women. With Stitch Fix, you provide your style, size (they also do maternity fixes), and budget preferences, and they will send you a package of stylish goodies to try on at home. You only pay for the items you love and decide to keep. There is a $20 styling fee which is applied to your order should you decide to keep any / all of the pieces.  If you don’t keep anything, you don’t receive a refund of the fee. If you keep all of the pieces, you get a 25% discount on everything!  Stitch Fix is now offering exchanges for sizing as well. Also, I should mention that you are only charged once you “check out” at Stitch Fix.  You have a few days to try everything on, and the box comes with a bag and a prepaid USPS return label so you can easily ship back the pieces you aren’t interested in.

Stitch Fix
shipped via USPS this month and took just a few days to arrive. Stitch Fix ships from a few different warehouse locations in the US and shipping varies between USPS and FedEx.

I couldn’t wait to open this up today! I peeked it at online, and there were a few pieces I was super excited to try on.

I have a bad habit of leaving my “Stylist Notes” section blank on my Stitch Fix account.  I just let them go with it on my fixes and pick out whatever they think would work.  I did, however, put a link to my Stitch Fix blog reviews in my notes, which I think helps my Stylist.

My December 2016 Stitch Fix included the following pieces:

~Urban Expressions Zella Satchel ($64): This is a nice roomy tote. It’s not structured so it doesn’t sit up too well if you don’t have it packed with stuff (like I’d ever not have a bag packed with stuff) and is made out of an almost suede like material. It’s super soft.  It has a long, detachable strap, as well as, handles.  Had this been black (or a bright red or wine color), I would have kept it.  However, I am not a big fan of the dark hunter/olive green (and don’t really need a new bag), so I am returning.  Verdict: Returned.

~Pixley Greenich Striped Knit Top ($48): I love this.  Like I LOVE it.  It’s a thicker stretchy material with amazing elbow patches.  Sadly, though, this shirt doesn’t love me.  It’s too snug and just not flattering on me.  Also, while I normally LOVE longer shirts, this one just seemed too long?  Maybe because of the stripes?  Either way, it’s going back. Verdict: Returned.

~Kut from the Kloth Simmons Bootcut Jean ($88): Are bootcut jeans coming back in?  I certainly hope so because I LOVE them.   Well, as much as I can like any jeans (they aren’t leggings).  These were a little long (but really, all jeans I try in are), but fit nicely otherwise.  For as much as I wear jeans (*maybe* once a month), I can’t justify keeping these for the price. My stylist did a great job though as I love everything about them. The cut, the wash, the fit, it’s all me! Verdict: Returned

~RD Style Jana Poncho Pullover ($78): This is totally 100% me. It’s comfortable, somewhat flattering (as flattering as a poncho can be anyway) and super cute.  I love the cowl neck / turtleneck, the color, just everything.  I tried it on over the striped shirt that came in here, but I will just wear a solid dark shirt underneath it because the sides are open. Verdict: Kept

~Market & Spruce Nichols Pullover Sweater ($68): I like this sweater (it’s soft, and I love the color), but I’m just not sure?  If it were a v-neck, I would keep it in a second, but I don’t think that this crew neck does much for me.  I do love the longer style and the almost a-line bottom, though. Verdict: Undecided.

I was really happy with this month’s Stitch Fix!  A few small tweaks and this could have been a perfect Fix.  Sometimes a perfect Fix isn’t what a want though because I don’t want to keep all the pieces every month!  As long as I keep one item (and I know I am keeping that poncho) and don’t lose my styling free, I am happy.
