Birchbox Limited Edition: Cult Classics Review + Coupon Codes

Birchbox offers a $10/month beauty subscription service, but every once in a while they also offer limited edition boxes such as this one. This review is on the Birchbox Limited Edition Cult Classics Box.  Limited Edition boxes are a totally separate purchase from the monthly subscription. I skipped the last few Birchbox Limited Edition Boxes, but I couldn’t resist this one.

Birchbox Breakdown
Cult-classic beauty products are like A-list celebrities—they require no introduction, cover the pages of magazines, and have devoted fans all over the globe. From the sponge that revolutionized makeup application to a multitasking salve beloved since 1930, the beauty hits in this box have been vetted (and adored) by thousands. There’s even a rose gold tray, so all of your soon-to-be favorites stay organized in style.

 Boxes have such fun packaging!

Birchbox reveals the contents of their limited edition boxes in advance, but they are still quite fun to open.

The Birchbox Limited Edition Cult Classics Box included the following items:

~Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray (37mL / 1oz) ($10): Oribe is pretty much my favorite haircare line. This works as both a dry shampoo and a texturizer spray.  It smells good and best of all, it doesn’t leave your hair all crunchy and gross.

~Laura Geller New York Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator in Gilded Honey (Deluxe Sample) (~$10): We seem to receive Laura Geller products on an almost regular basis, but I think this might be the most beautiful one I’ve ever gotten in a subscription box.  It just makes you glow.  You can use it anywhere, but I love it as an eyeshadow.

~Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour® Cream Skin Protectant ($22): Why haven’t I used this before?  It does everything!  It left my skin feeling hydrated and soft, but also works to tame flyaways, soften cuticles and more.  Awesome!

~TokyoMilk Dark Tainted Love Eau de Parfum (No Size Listed) (~$11): This is a blend of dark vanilla bean, white tea, sandalwood, and sweet orchid.  It’s not as heavy as I was expecting and smells almost sweet.  I like it!

~Lipstick Queen Hello Sailor Lipstick ($25): This looks blue, but it’s really a berry shade. I guess the blue base color makes your teeth look whiter in pictures?  I am all for that!  This was almost balm like – very moisturizing.

~beautyblender® original ($20): beautyblenders are the best!  If you don’t have one, I for sure recommend picking one up.  They let you blend makeup like a pro without wasting a drop.  I think I use way less product when using the beautyblender.

~Shiseido White Lucent Power Brightening Mask ($11.33): This mask “targets discoloration and dark spots, while also infusing maximum moisture into dry or damaged skin.”  If I could afford to use one of these masks nightly, I would!  It’s moisturizing, left my skin brighter and just made it look like I got much more sleep than I did.

~LOC One & Done Shadow Stick in Heavy Petal ($10): LOC sticks are a Birchbox favorite.  Heavy Petal is a Light Rose Gold and is stunning.  It’s easy to apply, waterproof and lasts forever.

~Moroccanoil® Treatment Original (15mL) ($9): This oil makes your hair incredibly shiny.  You just need a drop of two (I’ve overdone it before and regretted it), and your hair stays in place and looks great all day.

~TOCCA Crema da Mano (Cleopatra) ($10): TOCCA hand cream is an absolute cult classic. I received Cleopatra which is a blend of Grapefruit and Cucumber and smells amazing.  All of the TOCCA creams smell amazing, though.  You can’t go wrong.

~Benefit Cosmetics They’re Real! Lengthening Mascara (30g) ($8.47): I love this mascara!  It’s not clumpy and gives my lashes amazing volume.  Just a great overall mascara.

~Smith & Cult Nailed Lacquer in Pillow Pie ($18): I absolutely love the Smith & Cult polishes. The formula is great, but the bottles?  OMG, they are a work of art.  This isn’t a color I will wear right now (I like darker polishes in the Winter), but come Spring I will be all over this.

~Isaac Jacobs Acrylic Makeup Organizer (~$20): The final item in the box was an Isaac Jacobs makeup organizer.  I believe I received the same one (or very similar) in a different box.  It’s very stylish, holds a ton of product and looks great on your vanity.

All totaled I came up with an (estimated) value of $190.80 for the Birchbox Limited Edition Cult Classics Box.  According to the website the box has a value of $180+ and I found that spot on.  This box has a lot of products I have sampled before, but I loved them all so I knew this box would be a winner for me.
