MondayMorningRamblings-1024x1010-1

~Good morning! This weekend was all about Valentine’s Day around here. We shopped for Valentine’s, addressed Valentine’s, got goodie bags together, prepped teacher gifts, did a project for L’s teacher, you name it, we did it!

~Lots of subscription boxes coming this week! I am expecting Stitch Fix, Fabletics (mine was super delayed this month), BuddhiBox, Love With Food, Birchbox and a bunch of others!  Should be a good week.

~The Grammy’s.  I don’t even know where to begin.  So much going on there. I am still nervous from Beyonce tipping back in that chair.  Eek!  Adele was amazing. I love that she called for a do-over because she wanted to make sure she got it right for George Micheal.  Bruno Mars was also incredible with his Prince tribute.  Wow.  Just wow.

~Two questions – 1) What kind of pillow do you use?  and 2) What (beginner) yoga dvd do you recommend?  I keep waking up with a sore neck and it’s got to be my pillow.  I’ve tried a few different ones and I don’t seem to be too great at picking them out on my own, so help!!  And yoga.  I’m not looking for anything too vigorous – just something to calm me down.  I am *hoping* for a dvd recommendation since I want it to be on my tv and not on my computer (I know I can connect them, but…), but if you have something fabulous you love, I want to hear it!

That’s it from here.  Have a great week!

Spread the love

I use the youtube app on our PS4 to do Yoga with Adrienne. She has some great beginners workouts in a couple of different lengths.

I had a $75 memory foam pillow that was killing my neck, so I switched to a regular old cotton stuffed pillow that was labeled “firm”… it does the trick, no more sore neck. Now I just feel stupid for buying a $75 pillow, but my husband loves his!
    I like Rodney Yee’s AM Yoga… it’s a Gaiam DVD.

Hmm, maybe I need to start at Target and go from there????

Rodney Yi is great, but his physique of wonder is distracting. I liked Yoga Trance Dance back in the day.

Yoga w Adrienne in youtube is my favorite.

Ha! The perfect pillow you say? I have been searching for years. It’s my unicorn. I bought panda pillows amd they were too big. I had two Sertas from Menard’s. One was glorious but I got it wet. The other one was great but now seems to be worn out.

Anything I have bought from Costco has not cut it for me.

I had a pillow that was a mix of chopped ip.memory foam and it was great for a while, but then failed.

    Good luck. I feel you.

Uhh, I think I need to google him. Sounds like a good video ;).

Dare I ask how you got your pillow wet?

I just got a coop pillow off amazon and I love it. It has shredded memory foam that you can adjust/take out/add more. I needed a back and side sleeper pillow and this one worked. Was about $50

    1. Jennifer

Well that sounds neat! Like you can adjust and test out different ways!

I love the Joy Magnano pillow from HSN. It’s memory foam with a cool side and a warm side and also is slightly wedged. Sounds gimmicky but the cool side has some gel inside so it really is slightly cooler, and the warm side is fuzzy so it feels cozy. The downside is that they are a bit too wide for regular pillowcases, so for the best fit you have to order the matching cases (which also have cool/silky and warm/fuzzy sides). They come in a lot of nice colors, too, and the price is comparable to other memory foams.

    Jen,

I cant reply directly to your comment for some reason.

Yes, you may ask, but it’s depressing, ha ha. I was very sick w an autoimmune disease and laying in the tub was oneof the few things that helped relieve pain. The pillow was propping me up and it fell in and got soaked. It is impossible to dry memory foam. We even drove over it trying to wring it out. No dice.

Rodney Yi has a gorgeous body. But I can’t focus on anything he says, ha ha.

    1. Jennifer

Ahhh, the tub! I was thinking all this water was in your bed??? The thought of you driving over the pillow cracks me up though.

I just googled him! He’s very bendy. Wow.

I swear by the firm/extra firm pillows by Target. The ones around 12/13 dollars with the blue edging. I need a good pillow and I’m very picky. They are firm but soft. I buy a new one every 3-4 months because I like it really firm, but for a less particular person they would last much longer!

MyPillow! I can’t say enough good about them. They are SO good, that I even bought them for my 4 and 7 year old kids! My mom also has them. In addition to being the most comfortable and supportive, they do not sleep hot, have a 10 year warranty, AND you can wash them!!! I got mine from QVC. I had been looking for a pillow to replace one that I had years ago that I loved. I’ve bought so many pillows trying to find one that was right. This is it.

Feather pillows for the win. You can mold them into any shape and you can wash them so they last way longer than synthetic fiber pillows.

I cannpt take credit for the driving over the pillow. That idea came from a Boyscout Dad on a camping forum.

Ask Danielle what kind of pillows I got for her and Brian
I got my hubby the My Pillow , he likes it
I got Jon one that has cool in it and he loves it too …
