A purchase made on March 1st will be shipped April 1st.

I have been feeling pretty crafty lately, so I decided to tackle this project as soon as it arrived today.

The February 2017 Smart Art explored Chinese Brush Painting and Calligraphy.  With the exception of a Doodle Crate project a while back (which wasn’t even the same thing), I have never worked with anything like this.

The Materials

The box included:
~Mini Buddha Board ($13.93)
~Chinese Calligraphy Brushes 3PCS
~Calligraphy Drawing Pens 3PCS
~Tom Norton Walnut Drawing Ink ($7.99)
~Hanshi Calligraphy Paper

Instructions

Every Smart Art project includes detailed instructions on how to complete that month’s project.  You can do their suggested project or use the tools for whatever project you have in mind.

The Project

I decided to go with the suggested project this month.  Mine didn’t turn out quite as well as the one on the instructions, but I had fun.  The box included plenty of additional paper, and there was a ton of leftover ink, so I can experiment a little more with this technique.

~Mini Buddha Board

The Mini Buddhi Board is a 5-inches and is probably one of my favorite Smart Art items ever.  I wasn’t familiar with this before, but it’s now going to be a staple on my desk.  You paint on it with water and then slowly, your art disappears, and you have a fresh canvas to create with.  The box says it will last for years and all you need is water!  It’s not messy, and I found it so soothing!
