Pretty colors!
The March 2017 Bokksu theme was “Snacks Over Flowers” and included the following items:
~Sakura Rusk: These are crispy, buttery cookies with a floral cherry taste. The flavor isn’t crazy strong, but it’s enough. I think a layer of Nutella on these would be out of this world.
~Sakura Saku Saku Senbei: These are crispy, and they have a hint of chili pepper which gives them a great kick!
~White Strawberry: The description made me think these would have a chocolate coating, but I think the chocolate is more soaked in. They were a little crispy, a little soft, but SO flavorful.
~Pocky Midi Strawberry Fromage: There aren’t too many pocky stick flavors I don’t like (green tea would be one), but I love these. They have a thick strawberry cheesecake coating/chocolate coating. Last month Bokksu did all those different KitKat flavors, and I think an all Pocky Stick box would be just as fun.
~Rufeel Baked Jam Biscuits: These are buttery biscuit cookies with a layer of strawberry jam. I don’t normally like a jam texture in my cookies, but the buttery base of these made them hard not to like.
~Languly Strawberry: Buttery chocolate cookies with a white chocolate and strawberry filling. I probably could have eaten the entire package of these without thinking twice.
~Ume Sable: These butter cookies are infused with plum, and shiso (perilla) leaves. I think I would have preferred if these were just a straight butter cookie. Just not my thing.
~Une Kobucha: Turns out this is the tea for this month’s box. I thought it was candy and am so glad I didn’t eat it like a shot which was what I was thinking about doing! It has flavors of plum, shiso leaves, and kelp and can be served either as tea or in soup.
