1. How do you celebrate birthdays in your house? Today is B’s birthday and tomorrow is W’s birthday (Happy Birthday boys!!!), so it got me wondering what special traditions you have at your house? B’s out of town, so we celebrated before he left and I will have the kids sing to him on Facetime. As for W, we went to Dave & Buster’s over the weekend to celebrate (his pick) and we are going to go to 5 Below so he can pick out 5 items (because he’s 5). I will probably bake him a cake too! We don’t have any real traditions, but we do always make sure it’s fun.
2. What was your last OMG, DUH? moment? I’ll explain this by telling you mine. I bought Kool-Aid packets to dye Easter Eggs with this year. The kids and I grabbed one of each color package and that was that. However, when B got them all ready for egg dying, I noticed the green was missing! Where is our green one? It was then he explained to me that the color of the Kool-Aid in the package was the color of the Kool-Aid in the glass on the front of the package. So my green Kool-Aid package actually makes red Kool-Aid because the liquid in the glass in red. Mind blown. I had NO IDEA (B did though). But, OMG DUH that makes total sense.
That’s it from here! I’m looking forward to hearing your answers.
I love the “buy 5 things because you are 5 years old” idea!
I really like Five Below but there is not one anywhere near me.
It’s such a fun store!
I had NO idea about Kool Aid! I thought the package color was the drink color!!
So glad I am not the only one who didn’t know this!!!
I agree I thought that it was the color of the packaging. I had no clue.
1. For my husband’s we either go out to eat or I cook something special at home. My husband isn’t a big cake person so we usually eat some ice cream or a snow cone for his birthdays. For my birthday it’s usually a crap-shoot, it depends on how tired my husband is if we do anything super special or not that day, but he usually makes up for it the following weekend.
2. Literally last night. I had polished my nails downstairs and taken my wedding ring off. I went upstairs to get ready for bed, washed my face, brushed my teeth, and gotten into bed before realizing I wasn’t wearing my ring… I was cold and did not want to get back out of bed. I called my husband downstairs and asked him to please bring my ring up with him. He that told me he couldn’t find it, so I asked him to look in the bathroom when he came up, he did… it wasn’t there. So, I finally got up from the bed to look around……. IT was on my dresser, by my earrings….. I LITERALLY COULD HAVE SEEN (AND GRABBED IT) IT FROM THE BED.
LOLOLOLOL!!! Once, at the mall I realized I was missing an earring. I was like OMG I lost a diamond earring. I was hoping maybe it had fallen out in the car or while I was sleeping or something so I came home and tore apart basically everything. Uhh, my earring was on the bathroom sink the entire time. How long was I walking around with just one earring and why didn’t anyone tell me?
I bake a cake (their choice of flavor) for the kids and ice it and they get to decorate it themselves with whatever candy we have in the house. It seems silly but they really enjoy it. We’ve had some creative and crazy cakes.
