Mine Chest, the first official Minecraft subscription box, is a bundle of hand-picked, official, Minecraft goodies, delivered right to your doorstep every other month. Exactly what’s included is a closely-guarded secret, but expect an exclusive t-shirt, exclusive items, a premium collectible chest, a unique project, and a selection of official collectibles. It should be noted that Mine Chest has recently joined forces with Loot Crate and now ships bi-monthly instead of monthly. In addition, the price has increased from $36.99 to $39.99/box.
Mine Chest

Ships To: United States. International (add $10)

Mine Chest ships via USPS. I am not totally sure when this box was supposed to ship. I *think* it should have shipped shortly after the ordering deadline, which was May 15th, but it’s not totally clear on the website. Regardless, this box shipped very late!
Each Mine Chest box can be transformed to match that month’s theme. My boys are 5 and 9 and are absolutely obsessed with Minecraft and always get so excited to open up these boxes.
The May / June 2017 Mine Chest theme was “PLAINS” and included the following items:
~Blue Plush Sheep: I can’t find any blue plush Minecraft sheep for sale, so it’s possible this is a Mine Chest exclusive? Or a brand new item. My kids were thrilled with this fuzzy guy, and he’s all moved in L’s room – which is where the Minecraft playing goes down.
~Minecraft T-Shirt: My oldest (L) claims all the Minecraft t-shirts, and I suspect he’ll be wearing this one tomorrow. It’s a sheep climbing a hill on a blue background. One note – I thought this t-shirt was quite boxy. More so than normal in my opinion. I’d love if they used a softer material (like a washed cotton) with a slightly longer / leaner style through the body, but I doubt that will happen. I’ll probably just need to size up for L, so it’s not a crop top. The body will be huge, but that preferable to the crop top.
~Minecraft Horse Pin: All Mine Chest boxes include an exclusive pin, and I think this is the best of the bunch so far. My 5-year-old wears them for a while, and then they end up on his backpack.
~Mine Chest Exclusive Sticker: My boys both passed on this sticker, so it’s now on my computer. They think it’s cool I have a Mine Craft item on my computer, and I think it’s pretty. Win-win!
~Minecraft Stamp & Ink Pad: As usual, the box contained a Minecraft stamp and ink pad. The boys like them, but I feel like we could do without another stamp. The stamp is grass, and the inkpad is a brownish/green shade. It’s a little splotchy, but I am hoping the more they use it, the better it looks.
~Minecraft Grass: I had to ask what this was because I had no idea. It’s foam grass that you can use to display your Minecraft “stuff”. Meh. These will likely end up getting tossed.
I felt like the May / June 2017 Mine Chest was missing something. My boys were happy, but I wasn’t impressed. I’m also getting a bit annoyed with their shipping delays. It’s becoming a regular thing, and I really hope they get back on track soon!
Did you get the May / June 2017 Mine Chest? What’d you think? If you are interested in subscribing, you can get signed up here. You have until July 15th at 9 pm PST to get signed up for the next box.
I agree, this box felt empty like the “it” item. I hope their shipping becomes regular soon also.
