Stitch Fix Review – July 2017

Stitch Fix is a personal styling service for women. With Stitch Fix, you provide your style, size (they also do maternity fixes), and budget preferences, and they will send you a package of stylish goodies to try on at home. You only pay for the items you love and decide to keep. There is a $20 styling fee which is applied to your order should you decide to keep any / all of the pieces.  If you don’t keep anything, you don’t receive a refund of the fee. If you keep all of the pieces, you get a 25% discount on everything!  Stitch Fix is now offering exchanges for sizing as well. Also, I should mention that you are only charged once you “check out” at Stitch Fix.  You have a few days to try everything on, and the box comes with a bag and a prepaid USPS return label so you can easily ship back the pieces you aren’t interested in.

My Stitch Fix shipped via FedEx and took just a few days to arrive this month.

I peeked at my box this month (you can peek thru your profile once it ships) and I wasn’t too excited about it. At all. I was hoping it would be better in person.

I don’t do the best job of filling out my checkout form and reviewing the pieces I get, but I do have my Stitch Fix blog reviews linked in my profile which I think helps a lot.

My July 2017 Stitch Fix (Fix #47) included the following items:

~Skies Are Blue Alisson Chambray Top ($58): This is so not me.  I don’t hate the fit, but I am not a fan of the chambray look.  At all.  On someone else, I would probably love this.  But on me, it was “off.”  The pocket seemed huge and again, the chambray, meh.  Verdict: Returned.

~41Hawthorn Striped Henley Knit Top ($54):  Now this shirt I like.  The colors (navy and coral) are gorgeous, and the material is super soft.  I also love the stripe pattern.  Sadly it was too big.  And, for the price, it’s just not worth it to go thru the exchange process.  I might have been swayed into keeping it if it fit, but since it doesn’t, returning it is the easy choice.  Verdict: Returned.

~Skies are Blue Hillsboro Mixed Material Hem Knit Top ($54):  Hmm.  There is a lot happening with this shirt.  The line down the center throws me, and I feel it looks even more off with the peek-a-book material at the hem.  I normally love that look too. The fit was a bit off as well.  It fit okay in the bust, but it flared out at the bottom, which may be intentional or may not be.  I did love the button detail on the back though! Verdict: Returned.

~Liverpool Lincoln Capri Pant ($78): I thought these pants might be my keeper, but they were a miss as well.  The waist was oddly constricting, so much so that they were actually uncomfortable. On the bright side, they were slimming on the tummy!  I could have gotten used to the form fitting waist, but they were oddly loose in the knee/calf area.  If I sized down though I wouldn’t be able to breathe, so these are also going back. Verdict: Returned.

~Bancroft Doris 3-Piece Cuff Set ($34): Now these are gorgeous.  Even better in person than in pictures. My wrists, however, do not agree with cuffs. My wrists must be “oversized” because cuffs never look right on them.  In hindsight, I should have kept these and given them as a gift, but I sent them back.  Verdict: Returned.

This entire Fix ended up being a miss for me, and I returned it all (and lost my styling fee).  I was close to not even taking pictures of me in the pieces, but people seem to like to see stuff on, so I did anyway (forgive my mess).  I have never gotten two bad fixes in a row, so I am sure next month will knock it out of the park!
