MissionCute is a monthly subscription box full of cute stuff, but with a mission. Each MissionCute box comes with at least two items made by small-but-mighty artisans and local businesses. Every month they also partner with a different nonprofit to help promote their mission. 50% of the net proceeds of each box are donated to the chosen (you can vote on it) monthly nonprofit and MissionCute also sponsors and works on a service project each month in their community.

The August 2017 MissionCute partner is Lab 29. Lab 29 is a nonprofit corporation founded on the idea that education is a key factor in improving social injustice and class divides. They believe that through the use of technology and with community participation, every student should have equal educational opportunities.
The August 2017 MissionCute included the following items:
~Gurus Wish Bracelet: The Gurus Conservation bracelets serve as a reminder to conserve, recycle and do good for the environment and change the world. Plus for every bracelet sold Gurus will plant a tree. This bracelet ties on, so it’s probably not one you’ll want to be taking on and off frequently.
~NW Beauty Works Milk & Honey Lotion: Milk & Honey Lotion contains Organic Aloe, hydrating Organic Coconut Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, and nourishing Vitamin E. It’s not a thick lotion (in fact I would almost call it thin), but it’s moisturizing and has a nice scent.
~Luna Bazaar Mint Julep Bud Vase: The information card calls this a bud vase, but I think it’s more votive sized. You could arrange an assortment of short flowers in it though for a small desktop display.
~Sailor Paper Co. Be Merry Paper Coaster Set ($14): I knew these looked familiar and that’s because they also arrived in the January 2017 Mommy Mailbox. I liked them then, and I like them now. They are a thin cardboard and will warp easily, so I don’t recommend using these with a sweaty drink.
~WB Shades of Red Infinity Scarf: Fall is coming! This cozy scarf will keep you warm, but not make you sweat. It’s soft to the touch and perfect for the upcoming chilly weather.
~MissionCute Human Kindness 5×7 Graphic Print: The final item in the box this month was the MissionCute print. I LOVE this one. It says “Wherever there is a human being, there is an opportunity for kindness.” I am putting this in a frame right now.
I couldn’t find prices for many of the items in this month’s MissionCute so that I couldn’t do a price breakdown. The box had six items which works out to $6.50 per item. I think that’s more than fair and they did a great job delivering the “cute” this month!

They also offer a Mini MissionCute box for $20/month which consists of 2-3 hand-curated items. This may be a good option if you aren’t ready to try the full box.
