BOXWALLA Food October 2017 Spoilers
Rumi Spice is a company started by three U.S. military veterans to improve the economic conditions in the war torn regions of Afghanistan by engaging in economic trade with the farmers there. Rumi spice works directly with Afghan farmers to bring to the U.S some of the finest saffron in the world. In addition to sourcing from local Afghan farms, they also employ 300 women in Herat, Afghanistan to hand harvest the delicate saffron stigmas from the flowers.

This exquisite saffron is used in Michelin starred restaurants like Eric Ripert’s Le Bernadin and Daniel Boulod’s Daniel. It is a must-have in every foodie’s pantry.
