The December 2017 Play! by Sephora theme is “Glam Straight” and included the following items:

~bumble & bumble Thickening Spray (30mL) ($6.60): This lightweight spray adds volume, lifts, controls, and finishes any style.  It works, but it’s a little sticky, which I don’t love.

~Smashbox Cover Shot Eye Shadow Duo in Golden Hour (1.7g) ($6.49): Such gorgeous shades!  The shadows have great pigment and went on so smoothly and evenly.

~Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge Creme in Rose Wood (1.4g) ($8.80): It doesn’t necessarily look like it in the tube, but this lipstick is highly pigmented.  In fact, it has 25% more pigment than the original Rouge Artist!  It’s a little bold for me, but, then again, most lipsticks are. My sister-in-law will happily take this off my hands!

~it Cosmetics Confidence in a Cream (7mL) ($5.69):  Of everything in the box, I was most excited to try this out!  It aims to rejuvenate, repair, and restore skin for softer, smoother, younger-looking results.  The price isn’t outrageous ($48 for a full-size container), and I think I am going to incorporate this into my daily routine (along with my products from The Ordinary).  And then I’ll probably buy the full-size.  it Cosmetics has never let me down in the past, and I doubt they will this time either.

~Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara (0.17oz) ($12): I have eyelash extensions, so I don’t need to use mascara anymore.  But this has popped up in lots of boxes over the years and is a solid mascara.  It lengthens and adds volume as promised. The brush can sometimes get overloaded with product though.

~Miss Dior Eau de Parfum (~$1): Miss Dior has notes of Bergamot, Grasse Rose, and Rosewood.  This one was a miss for me.  It’s very floral and didn’t have great staying power (which I guess is okay since I didn’t love it).

~Swatches:

All totaled I came up with a value of $40.58 for the December 2017 Play! by Sephora.  That’s over 4x the cost of the box and a fantastic value for sure!
