The January 2018 Play! by Sephora theme is “Happy You Year” and included the following items:

~fresh Rose Floral Toner (20mL) ($3.20): I’ve probably mentioned it a dozen times, but I love getting toner in subscription boxes.  This is a little different than the type of toner I am used to though.  This is used for setting makeup and refreshing the skin throughout the day and not in your daily cleansing routine.  The full-sized one has a mister so you can spray on your face.  I may end transferring this into a spray bottle to get the full effects of it.

~smashbox Photo Finish Primerizer (0.13fl.oz) ($5.46): This is a face primer and moisturizer in one.  It’s lightweight and really is quite moisturizing.  I’m impressed!  It’s $42 for a full-size bottle, which isn’t that bad considering it does the job of two products.

~LANCÔME CILS BOOSTER XL Super-Enhancing Mascara Base (.07fl.oz) ($9.39): This is a mascara base – not a mascara.  It is designed to condition and prime lashes to maximize results.  I have lash extensions, so I didn’t get a chance to test this out one.  It gets great reviews on Sephora and has been around for years, both of which are great signs.

~Clinique Pep-Start Eye Cream (3mL) ($5.30): This is a brightening and hydrating eye cream that features a blend of peptides.  It did help with puffiness and felt very hydrating, but I couldn’t tell if this made my under eye area brighter.

~Glam Glow Supercleanse Clearing Cream-to-Foam Cleanser (15g) ($3.20): Can we get GlamGlow in every monthly box?  I love this brand!  It doesn’t smell the best, but it left my skin feeling clean (not stripped) and glowing.

~Alterna Haircare Replenishing Shampoo & Conditioner (~$2): The final item in my box was a Shampoo and Conditioner sample packet.  There was probably enough in here for two uses, but I only used it once.  I love this brand and thought this worked well on my hair, but at $34 for the full-size, it’s a little pricey for me.

All totaled I came up with a value of $28.55 for my January 2018 Play! by Sephora box.  That’s nearly 3x the cost of the box, and I’m pleased with it!
