The June 2018 GlobeIn Artisan Box “Mindfulness” themed box included the following items:

1. Blue Ombre Reed Diffuser, Mexico (Retail $20 each): This glass reed diffuser jar was hand-blown at the Cristaluc workshop in Tonalá, Mexico.  They included six reeds so you can turn this into your own customized diffuser. According to the booklet, you blend 20-25 drops of one or more essential oil with 1/4 cup of a base oil (coconut, saffron or sweet almond oil).  If diffusers aren’t your thing, you could use this as a vase or storage jar.

2. Mini Usha Bells, India (Retail $20 each): Made in India, these wind chimes from provided metal smithing artisans regular work for two months and have generated a livelihood for many more to come. The mini usha bells can be used outside as a calming wind chime or on a door to announce your presence at home after a long day’s work.

3. Mala Beads, India (Retail $20 each): Zaiba, the artisan who made these beads, has been working for the past six years to help her family gain financial independence.  They can be used to recite mantras (once for each of the 108 beads with fingers tracking slowly along the strand) or held during secular meditation and used to bring focus to one’s intention.

4. Lavender Oil, India (Retail $12 each): This oil can be used as the oil in your diffuser recipe or on its own for stress relief.  You can apply a few drops and rub together in your palms and then hold to your face for a deep inhale or to your pillowcase for a restful night’s sleep.  Lavender essential oil also works for calming minor skin irritations, bug bites, and burns.

5. Blue Lineas Palm Leaf Basket, Mexico (Retail $15 each): Lineas baskets are a GlobeIn staple item. They are made by their weaving partners in Oaxaca, Mexico and are super versatile. You can use them to collect daily affirmations and set daily intentions.
