ipsy Review - July 2018
ipsy sends its members a beautiful Glam Bag with 4-6 deluxe samples and full-sized beauty products based on your ipsy profile. Their bags always have an incredible value (well over the $10 cost), and I am always amazed at how they do it. I don’t always love everything in the bags, but I always always think it was worth my $10.  They also offer a rewards system for subscribers.  You can earn points by reviewing the items you get in your bags, sharing your ipsy bag on social media, etc. You can then redeem your points for products (often items which were featured in previous months) on the ipsy website.

ipsy bags have a ton of variation, so they don’t include product details on their information card. If you happen to stumble on this review, don’t be surprised if you end up with an entirely different bag. Specific details on the items in your bag can be found in your ipsy account online.

The July 2018 ipsy theme is “Summer Love,” and my Glam Bag included the following items:

~DR.LIPP Original Nipple Balm (4mL) ($4.53): I forgot how much I liked this stuff.  It’s not greasy and gives you a fantastic shine.  It also has been proven to reduce skin roughness by 40% in one hour.  I certainly found that to be the case for me.  My lips felt amazing right away.

~BRIOGEO Scalp Revival™ Charcoal + Peppermint Oil Cooling Jelly Conditioner (0.75oz) ($3.38): I loved the instant cooling sensation this gave my scalp while using it, but I didn’t feel much of a difference after that.

~POP Peak Performance Brow (0.3g) ($8): This brow pen lets you fill-in your brows to make them look naturally full.  I love the look of full brows, but would usually end up skipping doing mine (it always took so long). Lately I have been getting them “tinted” (dyed) which gives me the look of fuller brows with no work at all.  This pen does come in handy to add a little extra length on the ends where the hair no longer grows.

~LUSCIOUS COSMETICS Contour Kit Duo in Dark (2.1g) ($2.55): The dark contour is used for the cheeks and jaw-line while the highlighter works on the cheekbones, Cupid’s bow, under the brow bone, forehead or really any area you want to highlight.  I have been skipping the contour, but using the highlighter to get some extra glow on my cheeks.

~SMASHBOX COSMETICS Studio Skin Concealer (2.7mL – full-size) ($25): I was feeling a little meh on my bag until I realized this was a full size and is a fantastic undereye concealer.  It blended easily on my skin and it stayed put.  The best part is that I was out of undereye concealer and was just about to buy a new one. This alone made my ipsy a winner this month.

~The Bag: This month’s glam bag is a super fun holographic “pool” toned hue.    The zipper pull is rubber and very user-friendly (sometimes those small zipper pulls just don’t cut it).

All totaled my July 2018 ipsy had a value of $43.46.  As I mentioned, the concealer alone made this bag for me.  Everything else was just the icing on the cake.
