The May 2018 Play! by Sephora theme is “Beauty Goals” and included the following items:

~tarte Tarteist™ Lash Paint Mascara (0.08 oz/ 2.5 mL) ($8): I have lash extensions so I don’t wear mascara.  I gave this to a friend to sample and she said it did a great of of giving her volume without clumping or flaking.  She also loved the smaller, hard bristles on the brush.

~Hourglass Mineral Veil (3.8mL) ($8.11): Love!  It’s designed for use under makeup and promises to leave a smooth canvas while also reducing the look of redness, pores, and wrinkles.  It has SPF15 which is an added bonus and I love the way it looks on my skin with no makeup on.  It makes my skin incredibly smooth and keeps shine away all day!

~Kat Von D Tattoo Liner (.007fl.oz) ($7): I actually received this in my September 2016 Sephora Play! box.  Unlike Birchbox, I guess Play does send you duplicates.  I don’t wear eyeliner, but if I did, I would wear this.  It stays on forever and is so easy to apply (even for me and I so do not have a steady hand).

~Sephora Mud Mask Purifying & Mattifying (.33 fl.oz) ($3.30): This detox mud mask cleanses and purifies pores, absorbs excess sebum, and reduces the appearance of blemishes without overdrying.  I loved it.  My skin didn’t feel stripped and I could tell my pores were smaller right away.

~Bumble & Bumble Thickening Spray Pre-Styler (30mL) ($6.60): This spray does it all!  It can be used for setting, protecting from heat, adding volume, lifting, controlling, and finishing any style.  It’s not going to hold your hair in a crazy windstorm, but it does make my hair feel thicker and it tamed my flyaways.

~Chloe Nomade Eau de Parfum (~$1): Nomade is described as a warm floral scent with notes of Oakmoss, Freesia and Mirabelle Liquor.  I don’t even know how to describe it. The first time I tried it I hated it. The next day I loved it. It’s a complicated scent, but not overpowering at all.

All totaled my May 2018 Play! by Sephora had a value of $36.90.  That’s nearly 4x the value of the box and, as usual, they sent a fantastic variety of items.

What did you think of the May 2018 Play! by Sephora? One thing to keep in mind is that Play! sends out a variety of boxes each month, so you may end up receiving a different box than your best friend who is also a subscriber. If you are interested in subscribing (and you probably should be because their boxes are great), you can check them out here.
