What I Read This Month

This post is long overdue! I meant to start at the beginning of the year (I am making an effort to read more in 2018) and am just now getting around to it. Oops! I guess I have been too busy reading ;). I am going to try and do a post on everything I read from January – June, but that is going to take a minute. Here are my July reads:

~All We Ever Wanted (Emily Giffin) (Amazon):  I love Emily Giffin and thought this book was good, but not her absolute best. I wasn’t sure what direction this was headed, but I enjoyed the characters and it was an easy beach read.
~Girl Wash Your Face (Rachel Hollis) (Library): Meh.  I wasn’t a fan.  I felt like she was telling me things I already knew.  I think maybe I went into the book with too high of expectations?
~Its Always the Husband (Michele Campbell) (Library): YAAAASS! I just finished this one and am still shocked about the ending.  I literally had no idea how that was going to end until the last page.  Wow.
~Behind Closed Doors (B.A. Paris) (Library): Loved this one.  It kept me on my toes and I was rooting for Grace the entire time.  It was disturbing at points, but I would recommend it.
~Ghosted (Rosie Walsh) (Book of the Month Selection): This one was a miss for me.  It seemed very unrealistic and I was bored at times.
~Crazy Rich Asians (Kevin Kwan) (Library): I wanted to read this before I saw the movie, so I hopped on the waitlist at the library.  This book was long – probably longer than necessary.  There were SO many characters that frankly, I found it hard to keep everyone straight.  As a result, I ended up skipping sections on people who just seemed to be on the fringe of the main characters.  Still I enjoyed it enough to get on the list for Book #2 in the series.
~The Wife Between Us (Greer Hendricks) (Library): Lots of twists in here that I did not see coming and some that I found a little confusing.  I believe they making this one into a movie and I am hoping it is less confusing than the book.  LOL!  Still, I enjoyed it and would recommend it.
~Revenge wears Prada : the devil returns (Lauren Weisberger) (Library) – About halfway thru I realized I had already read this book. Which is basically why I need to keep this list ;).  Not as good as the first book (and clearly not all that memorable), but an easy entertaining read.
~The Last Mrs. Parrish (Liv Constantine): Wow.  I am surprised it doesn’t have more reviews on Amazon because it was one of my favorite books of the month.  It was a total page turner and little did I know, but all of the main characters had some tricks and secrets they were keeping (from each other).
~The Last Time I Lied (Riley Sager) (Book of the Month Selection): I could not put this book down.  At some point I thought pretty much everyone was responsible for what happened all those years ago at camp.  Easily my favorite July BOTM pick.

~Final Girls (Riley Sager): I checked this one out of the library because of how much I enjoyed The Last Time I Lied.  This one was even better!  I 100% did not see how this one was going to end.  At all.

I read more than I typically do this month – mainly because of 4th of July (lots of time in the car) and Hawaii!  A week on the beach makes for perfect reading conditions.  What did you read in July?  Any recommendations for me for August?
