Play! by Sephora Review - November 2018
Play! by Sephora is a monthly subscription box program. Each month subscribers will receive a box of deluxe samples, along with an exclusive PLAY! BOOK — packed with helpful advice — and a PLAY! PASS to redeem in store for a free one-on-one learning session with a beauty expert. The six product samples in your PLAY! by SEPHORA box are from the same prestige brands Sephora carries in store and online, and they are sized to use multiple times.

Play! by Sephora

Play! by Sephora ships via USPS.  All Play! by Sephora, boxes should arrive between the third and fourth week of each month.

Play! by Sephora has switched to recycled bags (they previous sent cloth bags) and I love them. I usually ended up tossing the drawstring cloth ones, but I will save these resealable ones.

The November 2018 Play! by Sephora theme is “Merry & Bright” and included the following items:

~Makeup Forever Ultra HD Microfinishing Loose Powder (1g / 0.035oz) ($5): This finishing powder blurs your imperfections – like an instagram filter.  It is used as the last step in your makeup application process, but I have used it alone (just to quickly get some coverage) and I thought it was fabulous.

~Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Cream (5mL) ($4.80): Ceramidin is a moisturizing cream supercharged with 5-cera complex that helps visibly strengthens skin and shield from water and moisture loss. Perfect for winter, it helps with rough flaky skin.  It is not something I need to use nightly, but I can see the benefits of using two to three times a week at bedtime.

~Moroccan Oil Protect & Prevent Spray (20mL) ($5.20): Ohh, I love getting this brand in boxes!  This spray helps keep haircolor from fading or becoming brassy by protecting it from daily environmental factors that weaken the hair.  I am all for anything that helps my color last longer, so I am happily incorporating this into my routine.  I think it will be especially helpful in the summer as it contains sunscreen to fight UV rays.

~Sephora Cream Lip Stain ($2):  I love the nude color, but I am not a matte lip fan.  Not on me anyway.  I will toss a coat of gloss over this and make it work for me.

~Clinique Pep-Start Eye Cream (3mL) ($5.30): Clinique does not pop up in a ton of subscription boxes, but I always love receiving it.  This is a lightweight eye cream that de-puffs skin (always happy to get something to help with my puffy eyes).  I cannot say for sure if my undereye area looks brighter, but maybe?

~Tory Burch Just Like Heaven (~$1):Just Like Heaven has notes of Hyacinth, Heliotrope and Tonka Bean Absolute. It is billed as a floral-citrus mix, but I think it leans a little more floral.  Still a great scent, but not an all-time favorite.

The November 2018 Play! by Sephora had a value of $23.30.  Thart’s not overly impressive value-wise, but I did enjoy the box.

What did you think of the November 2018 Play! by Sephora? One thing to keep in mind is that Play! sends out a variety of boxes each month, so you may end up receiving a different box than your best friend who is also a subscriber. If you are interested in subscribing (and you probably should be because their boxes are great), you can check them out here.
