Play! by Sephora ships via USPS. All Play! by Sephora, boxes should arrive between the third and fourth week of each month.
Play! by Sephora has switched to recycled bags (they previous sent cloth bags) and I love them. I usually ended up tossing the drawstring cloth ones, but I will save these resealable ones.
The May 2019 Play! by Sephora theme is “Beauty BFFs” and included the following items:
~Benefit Cosmetics BADgal BANG! Volumizing Mascara (3g) ($9.75): I feel like I have been getting so much mascara lately! If I wore mascara (I have lash extensions) this would be a good thing! I guess it is still a good thing as I have plenty of samples to pass on to friends.
~Smashbox Always On Matte Liquid Lipstick in Stepping Out (~$5): Stepping Out is a deep nude matte lipstick. The shade is pretty and it goes on smoothly, but the matte does not feel like me.
~Sol de Janeiro Coco Cabana Cream (25mL) ($6.67): I received a full-size of this in a BOXYCHARM a few months ago and was thrilled to get the sample size in here. It smells amazing! Seriously so good. It also does a great job of moisturizing the skin, but did I mention it smells good?
~It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Eye Cream (5mL) ($16): Ahh, so good. I am all about trying to depuff and dewrinkle my under eye area. This cream promises to help with dark circles, lines, and wrinkles and improve the look of eye bags. It will not fix everything, but I can see a difference from using this sample.
~Alterna Haircare Caviar Anti-Aging Restructuring Bond Repair Leave-In Heat Protection Spray (25mL) ($6.40): I generally try to avoid heat styling my hair (it is straight and air dries straight), but when I do use a blow dryer, I try and use something like this. It creates a barrier and prevents breakage, split ends, and frizz.
~Viktor & Rolf Salty Flower (1.2mL) ($2.32): Salty Flower has notes of Salt Flower Accord, Frangipani Flower and Cashmeran. I would describe it as beachy and it made me wish I was at one!
All totaled my May 2019 Play! by Sephora had a value of about $47. That is nearly 5x the cost of the box and a great value, but it was not necessarily my favorite box to date. Not disappointed with it, but not thrilled with it either.
What did you think of the May 2019 Play! by Sephora? One thing to keep in mind is that Play! sends out a variety of boxes each month, so you may end up receiving a different box than your best friend who is also a subscriber. If you are interested in subscribing (and you probably should be because their boxes are great), you can check them out here.
