The July 2019 GlobeIn “SIZZLE” themed box included the following items:
1. Moroccan Mezze Plate, Morocco ($50 value): I cannot eat enough chips and salsa this summer, so I feel like this plate was made for me. I am also 100% here for this gorgeous pattern and these stunning colors. It was handmade in Morocco by a group of artisan workers with a passion for pottery.
Measurements: 10.5″ D x 1.5″
Materials: Handmade ceramic.
Care Instructions: Dishwasher safe.
2. Chindi Handle Bread Basket, India ($20 value): Handmade in India using the Chindi Weaving technique. Artisans gather cotton scraps and sustainable jute fibers and sew them together to create everything from rugs and trivets to baskets like these. Use it for bread or to store things around the house (maybe use as a catch-all for keys and wallets?).
Measurements: 10″ x 7.5″ x 3.5″
Materials: Natural fiber (grass/leaves), upcycled Indian textiles.
3. Bamboo Food Tent, Vietnam ($30 value): How do I not own a food tent? Thanks to artisans with D&C Manufacturing, I do now. No more worrying about flies and bugs trying to get our food!
Measurements: 9″ x 13″
Materials: Bamboo and synthetic netting.
Care Instructions: Wipe Clean.
4. Stainless Steel Spreader – White, India ($10 value): This spreader, made by artisans with Noah’s Ark, can be used for cheese or hummus. Or maybe even to spread avocado on toast?? No matter how you choose to use it, you can be certain it will look stylish on your table.
Measurements: 8″
Materials: Stainless Steel.
Care Instructions: Hand washing recommended.
5. Hot Drops – Mild Four Chili, South Africa ($13 value): Eeek! Just the name of this scares me! It wasn’t quite as HOT as I expected, but it was more than mild in my opinion. Just for the record though I should mention that I sometimes find mild salsa to be too much ;).
Measurements: 4.2 fl oz (125 ml)
Ingredients: Vintage (50%) (chillies: Serrano & passion chilli (48%), vinegar, salt), lemon juice, water, sunflower oil, fermented Serrano chili (6%), fermented baby pepper chili (6%), garlic, salt, Bird’s eye chili (0.3%), xanthan gum.
Storage: Refrigerate after opening and use within 4 weeks.
