Birchbox Review + Coupon Code - July 2019
Birchbox is a monthly subscription of beauty samples tailored to your skin, hair, and style.  They recently increased the price of their box from $10/month to $15/month (current subscribers were grandfathered in at $13/month or $10/month for annual subscribers) and promise improvements to personalization, new products to choose from, more customization options for subscribers and faster shipping, among other things.  April 2019 was the first month of the changes and I was anxious to get my box and see the changes for myself.

Birchbox ships via USPS and all boxes generally ship by the 10th of the month.

This review is on the July 2019 Birchbox. I opted for the “Low Effort, High Impact” curated Birchbox this month.  They reveal all of the curated boxes in advance, so instead of selecting a sample (or letting Birchbox select for me), I opted for the “safe bet”.

My July 2019 Birchbox included the following items:

~Number 4 Super Comb Prep & Protect (1oz) ($3.28): This leave-in conditioner not only detangles, but also provides against UV damage and adds moisture.  I have received this in the past (not sure if it was in a Birchbox or in a different box), but have enjoyed it.  I would not call it a holy grail, but it does the job.

~Bumble and bumble. Don’t Blow It (H)air Styler – Fine (0.5oz) ($3.10): This is SO ME.  I read the name, but still thought it was a blow-dry styler.  Happily is to be used on towel-dried hair.  I avoid heat styling whenever possible, but love the volume I get when I do use a blow-dryer, so this is a game-changer.   It gave me great volume and a little bit additional texture with minimal effort.

~ARROW BOOST Color Enhancing Lip Balm – Blush Hour ($15): This balm was (one of) the main reasons I selected this box.  It is a hydrating lip balm reacts to your body’s chemistry to transform into a unique pink shade that enhances your natural lip color.  It gives me just the right amount of color without being over the top.  I love it!

~COOLA® Dawn Patrol™ Classic Primer SPF 30 (0.17oz) ($7.14): This primer made my skin feel smooth and soft, but it did look better?  I am not sure.  I did like that that it had a built-in SPF though.

~Clarins Wonder Perfect Mascara 4D ($14):  Meh.  Once again I will mention that I have lash extensions so I do not wear mascara.  I know that some people who have extensions do wear mascara, but I do not see the need for me too.  I will pass this along to a friend to test and enjoy.

~invisibobble® POWER ($9 for 3):  The first time I tried this I was not a fan.  I thought they stretched and were basically worthless after a few uses.  BUT I accidentally tossed one in the washing machine once and it shrunk back to normal. Now I am in love.  They do not get tangled in my hair nor do they leave a dent when I have my hair in a pony.  Plus, they are super cute.

All totaled my July 2019 Birchbox had a value of over $51. WOW!  They have been knocking it out of the park lately and I am loving it!!!

Did you get Birchbox this month?  What you’d get in your box and what’d you think?
