ipsy Review - August 2019
ipsy sends its members a beautiful Glam Bag with 4-6 deluxe samples and full-sized beauty products based on your ipsy profile. Their bags always have an incredible value (well over the $10 cost), and I am always amazed at how they do it. I don’t always love everything in the bags, but I always always think it was worth my $10.  They also offer a rewards system for subscribers.  You can earn points by reviewing the items you get in your bags, sharing your ipsy bag on social media, etc. You can then redeem your points for products (often items which were featured in previous months) on the ipsy website.

This month’s ipsy information card listed all of the products included in my bag. I love that ipsy is now doing this! My August 2019 ipsy Glam Bag included the following items:

~Buxom Cosmetic Big Tease Plumping Mascara (2mL) ($2.82): Someone mentioned that I get more mascara than ever now that I have lash extensions and that is 100% true.  Or maybe I just notice it more?  This mascara plumps lashes, delivering maximum volume and noticeably longer lashes for a full and flirty look.  It is certainly one I would pick if I needed mascara.

~Biorace Pore Purifying Spirulina & Tea Tree Clay Mask (28g) ($6.36): This clay mask reduces the appearance of pores and draws out impurities and purifies skin complexion.  This felt good on my skin.  Real good.  My pores felt open and clean and my skin looked much brighter.
~Cuccio Colour Nail Polish in Gaia (Full-Size) (~$10): I have been getting dip on my nails at the salon lately, so I will end up using this on my toes this winter.  It is great shade and easily one I would select on my own. Note: I could not find a price on these, so I estimated the value.

~It Cosmetics Confidence in a Gel Lotion Moisturizer (5mL) ($4):  Any box or bag that includes an IT Cosmetics product is a winner.  This is an oil-free, gel moisturizer that made my skin feel ultra-hydrated, but is not heavy at all.  It also did not cause a breakout (I have acne prone skin), which is also a win.

~Luxie Beauty Periwinkle Blending Brush, 237 ($12): ipsy sends cosmetic brushes on a fairly frequent basis – I think I get one every 2-3 months?  Off the top of my head I cannot recall ever getting one in my Birchbox?  Something to consider if brushes and tools are important to you and you are deciding between the two.

~The Bag: The August bag is hunter green with a very cool studded exterior.  Very rockstar!  The hot pink exterior was a fun surprise too!

All totaled my August 2019 ipsy had a value of about $35.  That is 3.5x the cost, which is about average for ipsy.  Not my favorite bag ever, but that is just a personal perefence.  Still worth the $10 though!
