Good Morning! Two weeks of Monday Morning Ramblings in a row! We had such a fun (busy) weekend. Friday night was Story Time with Santa at W’s school. I am one of the chairs of the event which makes things extra busy! The other chair was sick, but luckily B was back in town and helped me out a ton. Everything went smoothly and I (think) everyone had a great time.
Saturday the boys and I stopped by one of our favorite places – Blake’s Farms and then went to Krispy Kreme to get some of their super cute Christmas donuts. B had drill, so we brought some donuts home for him. And yes, L is almost as tall as me now!
Sunday was B’s Holiday Party for National Guard, which marked our third Santa visit for the week (we went to see him at the mall too). Army Santa gets gifts (and they are personalized) for all of the children of the solider’s in B’s unit, which I think is the most incredible thing. Last year they got awesome nerf guns and this year they got a soccer ball, a cool baseball bat and W got a Hot Wheels ramp which he was over the moon about. So sweet!!! Once W is out of elementary and I have nothing left to volunteer for there, I am going to try and help out with the FRG.
I am happy to report that I am much better off Christmas shopping wise than I was last week. Thank goodness for Amazon and Target. I did end up getting W a Nintendo Switch and I am hoping he loves it as much as he thinks he will. It was the only thing he asked for (well that and iTunes gift cards) during ALL of our Santa visits, so I guess this is it! I am glad I waited though because Target is offering a $30 Gift Card with purchase this week. L’s loft bed (*) arrived last week, so our big gifts are all done. I just need to pick up a few little things and they are all set.
That’s it from here! I will check back in later in the week. How is your holiday shopping coming along? Also, give me your best Christmas cookie recipe. I want to make some different ones this year.
