Birchbox is a monthly subscription of beauty samples tailored to your skin, hair, and style. They recently increased the price of their box from $10/month to $15/month (current subscribers were grandfathered in at $13/month or $10/month for annual subscribers) and promise improvements to personalization, new products to choose from, more customization options for subscribers and faster shipping, among other things. April 2019 was the first month of the changes and I was anxious to get my box and see the changes for myself.

Fanciest Birchbox Box ever! The box actually has a picture frame inside – a little gift from Birchbox. This review is on the December 2019 Birchbox. I opted to make a sample choice this month and did not select a curated box.
My December 2019 Birchbox included the following items:
~Schmidt’s™ Deodorant Stick (Bergamot + Lime) (0.7oz) ($2.15): I love the smell, but I just cannot get into natural deodorants. I have tried and tried, but I have yet to find one that compares to my beloved Dove spray.
~Briogeo Be Gentle, Be Kind™ Matcha + Apple Replenishing Superfood Shampoo & Conditioner (1oz/each) ($4.50): Smells good, made my hair feel clean and does not seem to be stripping any of my color. It does not lather well, but that is because this a sulfate-free product.
~Whal Myung WM5™ Antioxidant Rejuvenating Serum (5mL) ($8): This left my skin feeling hydrated and smooth, but I can’t say I was blown away by it. It wasn’t sticky feeling at all and I do love the packaging.
~Phase Zero Blusher (Making Moves) (0.09oz) ($11.12): Making moves is a Shimmery Warm Toned Peach shade. It is a buildable shade and I love the light shimmer in it.
~(MALIN+GOETZ) brightening enzyme mask (7mL) ($6.42): This is a 5-minute mask that deep cleans and exfoliates your skin. I am obsessed. My skin looked brighter and felt softer after just one use. While it is an exfoliating mask, it wasn’t harsh at all and I didn’t have any break outs or irritation.
All totaled I came up with a value of about $32.19 for my December 2019 Birchbox. That is super low compared to my past few boxes, but I loved the mixture of goodies in here.
